uterus infection

i have a female that has one how long do they last?

Need to get her on Baytril and keep her on it for 10 days. Dosed according to her weight and give every 12 hours. Have you taken her to a vet?

If it is bad enough, and they get bad easy, she will never have pups again as the infection can literally rot the uterus out. Baytril is the king of antibiotics. Not trying to sound the alarm but it is serious and listen to DG, get her to the vet to see where you are at with it.

I had a German import Great Dane with uterine infection called Pyametra (sp?) & one Vet told me she have to be spayed. A Saint Bernard breeder who worked for a Vet suggested injected meds and also infusing her using a fish aquarium tube. I treated her using this method with the most potent antibiotics known (this was in the 1960s) daily for 10 days and was then able to breed her & raise 2 litters, with no more infection problems. Two different antibiotics daily.

Note If you are Injecting the Baytril Use several injection Sites and Fan the needle around !!! The Stuff will cause a Nasty Injection site Bubble for several weeks if the injected dose is all in one spot .. I had the same effect in several different hounds ..

I mostly use it for Male Sheth and other UT infections but have quit Injecting it !
