Technology and the coon hunting world

There are many new things out there today that can help the coonhunter. We have embraced the GPS technology from getting us back to the truck to finding our wayward hounds. Now the question I have is why can't we use the Game Finders to help us isolate the area's of the tree to search? The way I see it, I'm not finding a coon with it, it is only identifying the area's of the tree that have a heat source available to help narrow the search. I feel like the use of one of those would be a very helpful tool in the sport, I'm going to start trying one while I pleasure hunt and see how it works. Maybe someday they will be allowed in the hunts. If anyone has tried one of them, let me know how they worked for you. I'll let you folks know how it works for me here in Ky.

I'm strictly a pleasure hunter so I guess a Game Finder would be great for me. Don't guess it would work on hollow trees though.

What I really look forward to is GPS getting cheap enough to have on coons and dogs. Heck I can hear what the dog is doing. I just don't know where the coon is during a race. If I had to make the choice with just one collar I'd rather have it on the coon. If I can afford a dozen of them I can thin them down then I can trap, tranquilize, climb and shake till everybodies wearing one. Then by golly, download that info and see exactly who did what in that cast.

Well back to the present, ho hum!

You couldnt do that because then you would uncover the truth about half the "Coondogs" out there today and that wouldnt be good now would it well, enough on my eternal hatred for slick treein deer running idiots.
