The President of Orange County Coonhunters Association has told me that the water race IS back on as long as the rope will hold up.

We hope to see everyone there!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 9-29-2010

We regret to inform everyone that the WATER RACE that was scheduled for SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2 @ 1:00 is CANCELED.

The rope has been cut and we will not be able to order one and get it here in time for SAT.

ALL OTHER EVENTS ARE PLANNED AS SCHEDULED!!!

HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE!

RABIES CLINIC 10 am- 11 am on SATURDAY Price is Unknown

BLUEGRASS BAND 10 am - 2 pm on SATURDAY

BATTLEFIELD BEAGLE CLUB on SATURDAY

Bench show judge on Friday is Brad Carter he will be picking one hound for Overall Friday Show Winner.

Bench show judge on Saturday is Eric Hardy he will be picking one hound for Overall Saturday Show Winner.

Then the Overall Friday and Saturday winner will compete for the Hound Dog Classic Overall/Reserve winner.

The judge will be Jimmy Carter for the Overall/Reserve (added purse if applicable) and Pairs class.

Nite Hunt MOH on Friday is Rick Gordon

Nite Hunt MOH on Saturday is Charles Pullen

The 3 non-hunting judges for the final hunt off will be announced later.

you can have added purse in ukc. if this is the case i don;t know why we don;t see more of it. you would see more grand night dogs and i think would help with attendence

Last year was our first time having an added purse for the hunt, so this year we decided to try it with the show too. We had almost 100 dogs between the two days last year, so we hope for even more this year.

guys you need to aattend this hunt it is by far the best ukc hunt i have been to in years 1st class club/good guys/good guides and if your packin a coon dog you will score on coon, i wont miss it!!!!

In what part of Virginia is this hunt? Im from Salisbury, NC where the Southeastren Treeing Walker Days is held at. Virginia isn't too far from here but all is just according to where in VA you're talking about.

It's about 5 1/2 hours from Salisbury. This has turned into a BIG hunt.

It's in Orange County Va I think.

Good people, lots of fun , water races WHATA POND, love that bluegrass band last year. I cain't wait , this is by far a FIRST CLASS HUNT . Will Stoney Creek supply be there?

Thanks for the info, that would be a decent little drive but it sounds like it would be one well worth it. This is the first I've heard of this hunt it sounds like a pretty cool little event though. I'm definitely putting this one on the calendar and making plans. The water race ought to be a something to see! I've attended a lot of hunts but never a water race, I’m really looking forward to this one. I just might bring one of these big O’l blue dogs’s up for this one and might try hunting my little blue English female, too. I Guess we'll just have to wait to until then to see though?

Anyone who has been to this hunt before know what the Bluetick attendance is like there; just a few, several, a good many, the majority? Just curious, wondering if the number of dogs entered for any specific breed changed much according to the geographic location of the event and too more or less just because I like seeing anything that’s got some blue on it, lol.

I have always wanted to hunt in Virginia lived there when I was a little kid. Looks like beautiful country up there. I can;t make it this year but will have to put it on my wish list for next year.

Day, Bob Gleason, Tim Shanley, Russell Hamm AND IF I LEFT OUT
OTHERS .....SORRY.
Hope didnt spell names wrong. Walker Days is about 4 1/2 hr. done it for last 3 years.

THERE WILL BE 3 NON-HUNTING JUDGES IN THE WOODS ON THE FINAL CAST . They (NH-JUDGES) will vote on ALL ? by the handlers and ALL trees will be scored by the 3 JUDGES .

2 OUT OF 3 JUDGES votes will be final
Also in the FINAL cast (for the $) CAST WINNER , dont have to have to be plus points CAuse we are gonna have a winner that
night not Mon, Tues, or next week.

COME and you WILL HAVE FUN.
The special guest this year is BACK ROADS BLUEGRASS BAND
