NC Wildlife discuss GA hunting dog rules

please crosspost:

Subject: Big Game Committee of NC WRC will consider "Georgia Plan" to regulate dog hunting in NC
Date: Wed, 5 May 2010 22:31:34 -0400

NC Wildlife Resources Commission Big Game Committee meeting Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Dear Clint: As you may have heard, the NC Wildlife Resources Commission plans to hear about “the Georgia Plan” for restricting hunting with dogs. They have invited outside people to come to NC to recommend additional regulations for hunting with dogs.

“The Georgia Plan” will discussed in the Big Game Committee on Tuesday, May11, 2010 at 9:00 am in the Auditorium on the First Floor of the WRC Building located at 1751 Varsity Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606. We expect the Big Game Committee to support more stringent regulations about dog hunting.

We oppose further regulation of hunting with dogs. The position of the NC Sporting Dog Association is that we have a full and adequate complement of rules and statutes. We do not want further regulations that can be used to harass hunters and discourage hunting with dogs.

Please contact your District Commissioner to voice your opinion. Visit www.ncwildlife.org for their contact information.

If possible, plan to attend or send a representative of your Club to the Big Game Committee meeting at 9:00 am on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.

For your information, here is the link to the Agenda for the Wednesday, May 12, 2010 full Commission meeting, when the Big Game Committee will report to the full Commission.

Is this about where GA was trying to put an end to the running of bears in ga? If so that failed..You can still run em here..Despite all the cry babies that have moved in

This presentation and the discussion that will follow are in regards to the running of dogs for deer.
