think my male is
i think he is bumpin a fox best i can figure i hunt him 6 nights a week and once month he will go on a 3 mile tear like tonight kept him on the tracker and followin and cut him off on a road and he saw me comin he ran back into swamp and found a tree this isnt first time. any sugestions he has the coon 4 out of 5 times best dog ive hunted in a while i really wanna fix this
fox
its sometimes hard to figure out if its a fox i know a gray fox will tap a tree like a coon i aint sure about a red fox if i had one i thought was running a fox i would find a fox pen and get where you can see and when the fox comes by and the hound comes have a shock collar on him and bust him good dont say nothing to him he will think the fox did it to him put him in the box take him to where you can tree a coon if you can knock it out to him if not really praise him on the tree then take him back to the fox pen in 2 or 3 days and try it again he will soon learn not to mess with a fox if he hard headed might take a few times jmo
id be looking for a white tail infront of em, fox like to circle, not saying one wont straight line it, but for the most part they like to circle back, a coyote is more likely to straight line it, but they to like to circle if givin the chance
male
i know its not deer first thing i do with i dog or train is have the shoicker on and in day light or duskl cut them in a field with 10-20 deer in it if they run them make em roll circles i cut him at dusk last year when i got him and he hunted out and treed a coon he will tree coon everynight for like 3 weeks then one night he will just screw up almost to my calander i can so ok last night is done so id guess around may 18 he will be do for another i know it sounds weird but to a t its about 3 and a half weeks every time maybe he forgets the lesson i dunno and dont wanna shock him cuz i have the unknown factor i wanna know what im lookin at yotes or fox and we have plenty of both and hes to smart for his own good cuz i used my tracker to cut him off a road and as soon as he sees me runs back in a trees
