Unwritten Rule

Is it an unwritten rule to take an off colored dog to a Sectional?
Example: If I take a bluetick to a blackntan sectional and hunt in a grand nt cast. I really have no point in being there except to compete. But to me thats a good enough reason.

Seems you hear talk around club houses of why a person would bring an off colored dog to a certain breed sectional.

An off colored dog can compete for placement points. They can't win King or Queen of Hunt of Show at a sectional.

Cant they still compete for prormance points? If your just wantin to get out or go to a local club to support tbe club more power to you! And kudos from me! We need everything wd can to bring more entrys to clubs to keep em goin!

If it is I didn't know about it LOL.

It wouldn't bother me one bit if someone showed up at a Black and Tan sectional with some other breed of dog. If you are gonna compete then compete and don't worry about what breed of dog you are huntin against.

Sectionals to me always seemed to be about drawing more entrys to an event by making it a little more special to attend. Many come out to events that promise to be bigger and well attended. Even your bigger breed days wouldn't be as big if other breeds didn't show up.

Rough Northern, take that off colored Grand Nite and go. Always thought it was interesting to see a cast of Grands work regardless of color. At least most of the time. Bet the club would appreciate your participation. Absolutely nothing should suggest otherwise.

i dont see what the big deal is anyway. They always take the HIGH scoring dog of that color which might be the last place dog in a cast with 25 plus and he will get king of hunt

to me if he dosnt get a cast win atleast he or she soudnt be able to get high scoring dog

Black and Tan -VS- Bluetick

The people at Black and Tan sectionals don't want Blueticks there because the Blueticks will make the B&T's look like pot lickers.

Go and have fun.

this is just my opinion, most of the breeds started having sectionals cause they dont want to compete with the other breeds. Ill go to a sectional of any color cause ur still gonna get a 1st or a nt ch win. I wont my dogs to be able to compete with everything. Someone said somthing about still getting performance points if u want to hunt for money hunt pkc nuff said

On behalf of the Treeing Walker Breeders & Fanciers Association, bring any dog with papers, whether they are litter registered, single registered, B&T, BLU, ENG, PLT, RED, WAL, American Leopard Cur or Cross Bred! Don't worry about the breed or color, just show up and enter.
