Are you talking about Stan's Sailor Boy? I think he was a grand parent of Houses Bawlie. In the 1960s.

Open Spotted dog with ticks, I had a grandpup of him in the early 80's, Fast track Dog, one of the fastest i ever saw, mediocre Tree Dog, very Accurate. I bout him for 75 dollars because he ran Deer, we didnt have any deer back then, I had him for a few Days and had not hunted him, a small kid came up and he jumped after him, the kids Bike was between him and the dog, My dad said " Boy take that dog back in the holler and shoot him" I said let me tie him in the corn crib at least till I can hunt him, he is supposed to Tree coons, he said "ok but if that dog bites anyone you wont sit for a Month". I hunted him that night and he Treed a Coon, man that was something back then. I hunted him 30 more nights strait in a row and Treed Coons every night. The 31'st night I turned him loose and never saw him again. It was 6 more months of hunting before I saw another dog tree a coon.

Had a grand pup off himm in'68. I aws about 14 and the first coondog pup I ever had. There weren't any coondogs to my knowlege around here then and I sure did not know how to train one. But while the other pups were bringing $25 the old man selling could tell I liked him and said he'd make a bench champion so I caughed up $35. He was mostly white, open spotted, with tan head and ears. and the only pup in the litter without ticks.
He had a weak smooth oooo tongue but I stayed close enough he never got out of hearing. He didn't stand on the tree, just stand beside it and not look up and chop ooo. Even on squirels.
We hunted so much he even took to fetching doves. In the hogged down corn the pigs could find a downed dove and eat it faster than most retrievers but he'd run the pigs off and fetch the doves. He was easy to break but you had to deer break all of them back then. He was as athletic as any dog today.

He was a Hershberger bred dog; they were great dogs in the day. There are some pictures of them in some of the old Walker Year Books. Tom

Old "Sailor Boy" was the sire of Wld Nt Ch. Stan's Sailor Jr.. My Nt. Ch. Table Rock Bea was from Sailor Jr. and Wld Sh. Ch.- Gr.Ch. Nt. Ch. Richardson's Vicki ( Vicki was a daughter of Finley River Chief).
"Table Rock Mundo,Jr.'s dam Table Rock Bea II was by Nt.Ch. Table Rock Bea and Table Rock Flying Hawk (Mundo Jr.'s sire was Gold Creek Mundo).
The old sailor line had big mouths and could drive a coon track. they they were extremely good tree dogs.
