Who uses Nickel Metal Hydride Batt?
I noticed these new lights only have about 4 amp hour capacity. Which seems to equate to 10 hours on the low side and 2 hours on the hi side.
Does anyone seem to have problems with the low amp hours of these new batteries.
The old 6Volt 8 Amp hour gell cells seem to be double the current. But I am sure they are not as bright. I am still using the old 6volt batteries.
Any thoughts on this subject?
Who uses Nicads?
Who Uses Gell Cells/Led Acid?

Nighthunter we build our own lights and use a sub "c" nmh battery. Our packs consist of 20+ volts and we get about 40 hrs out of the low side, 6 on the high side. We are using both a heavy duty 6 position click swith and a rheostat "flicker" switch. We like the nmh batteries because they have no memory in reference to charging. We use Smart chargers on our lights.

The NI-MH batteries are GREAT! You just have to remember to charge them according to how much you have used them, not by how bright they are. The Ni-cads start dimming from the first time they are used off the charger and steadily get dimmer until the end. NI-Mh batteries give a near constant voltage until very near the end when they give out very quickly. If you notice that your NI-MH light is a little dimmer than usual, it is almost dead! It took me a couple times of getting in the woods and the light dieing before I figured out the problem. I was used to the gradual dimming of the Ni-Cad, not the sudden dimming of the NI-MH.
