How many hounds do you own???

I have sincerely tried to cut back a number of times. I can't hunt them all, and it's expensive to feed them all. Right now I have 6 hounds, ranging from 3 mths to 3 yrs. If I kept the ones I wanted to keep, or regret selling, I would have a herd of dogs. Three of my hounds are females, and hopefully I'll get some good pups out of them.

I was wondering how many hounds the average hunter keeps. I thought it would be interesting to know. I was wondering if I was the only "Crazy" one out here, or are there others that own more than I do.

I just keep two and lately been having trouble keeping them hunted up. One is 5 & the other 3. I generally always kept a young pup around to get started but times change.

I usually keep 2 around, but got 3 at the moment. I got a 6 yr old, 20 mnth old & 6 mnth old, I tried cuttin back when I got the 6 mnth old pup just didn't work for me lol ...

i like to keep two around.i have a 2yr old,and a 4 month old.

i got five and i keep them hunted ones 2 1\2 and 1 1\2 and one 3 and my pup is 5 months and my 15 week old blue tick

I got three but fixin to have a litter.

I keep 3 a 4 year old a 17 month old and a 5 month old. I like training pups so I try to always have an iron in the forge.

We have 3. Legally we can not have more than 3. A kennel license is impossible to get in my township. I would have to get the written permission of everyone within a mile.

Wow, that suprises me Larry. I figured living up there in the Great White North you could prolly keep all the animals you wanted.

I have 4 at the moment, 3 is ideal for me. I usually hunt to myself. So cooning I take 2-3 at a time. I bear hunt as well, and 3-4 is way more than enough. That said I am going to have 2 litters this year, and a Stud fee pup back. So if I keep one from each that 7!

and we have 5 and they are fighting us haveing any outside dogs any where thank goodness for the michigan coonhunters and ukc for lobying for our rights all dog owners should send what they can to support our heritage and rights call your congress men to support the cause

In my opening remarks, I said my dogs ranged from 3mth. to 3 yrs. Actually, it's from 3 months to 6 yrs. I forgot Nippet's age. Just another sign that I'm getting old!!!

My biggest problem, if it is a problem, is that I like to hunt young dogs. When an experienced hound does good, it's no big deal. I'm dissappointed if they don't! When I get a good young dog, it sets me on fire. To see a young dog progress, getting a little better each time, really gets me going. I need to cut back, I've tried, and one day I will. Uh, Anybody want to buy some dogs!!! I guarantee them to eat good, and they all have good poopers.
