Aborting unwanted breedings
I have a dog that was bred today by accident. It has been 22 days since I first noticed any "spotting". I was wondering if any of you have used ECP for aborting dogs. She is 2.5 years old, and I hear that there can be some complications from using the shot. What have been your experiences? Thanks
If she is a good dog and you plan on raising a litter from her in the future, the best thing to do is 'hope' it didn't take and if it did and you don't want the pups, dispose of them at birth and go on. The shot causes way to many probelms. If you aren't planning to breed her, have her spayed and then you won't have to worry about any future litters.

My vet... who was an avid houndsmen and bird guy.. Reccomends it.. He says in the 30 some odd years of being a vet, he has given it many times and had no bad results.. He prefers it to a bunch of unwanted useless pups..
I've had it done per his advice and later raised a litter from her.. And since put roofs on my kennels to keep dogs from climbing over the tops
Talk to your vet.. And you better ask quick..
If you do a search on this you should find the subject has been talked about a lot.. And kinda a "hot" topic around here..
