Favorite place to hunt?
Just wondering folks ,where is your favorite place is to hunt.? Myself Northern Ohio and central, northern Indiana. I always wanted to hunt in Michigan but havent got the chance yet, I,ve heard the coon population is very strong and is very good hunting in Michigan.
I live in northeast ks and we have alot of coons here....
WHERE I HUNT HERE IN SO. AL. IS VERY ROUGH. IVE HUNTED IN A LOT BETTER PLACES SUCH AS OHIO AND IND. MOSTLY FLAT LAND AND EASY WALKING. A LOT OF SPOT HUNTING AND PLENTY OF COON. IVE HEARD IOWA AND MIN. HAS A LOT OF COON AND A LOT OF GRAIN FIELDS. SO I GUESS I WOULD VOTE FOR NORTHERN MID WEST.
go iowa
northern iowa all nite everynite i got about $4,000 acres to hunt on and every single spot i go to has a corn field and a creek run through it...i have good luck almost every where i go...i wouldnt wana hunt anywhere else!

northern ohio- mid michigan. All similar hunting with similar populations. I prefer hunting BIG BIG timber surrounded by corn, with cricks/ditches, on flat land. I am Not a mountain goat.

Coons
used to be thick as ants at a church picnic 'round here. Not any more.I think rabies has claimed quite a few.Rabies in coons is practically an epidemic here.

Before I brought a house, I asked that same ? to myself.
Spent 3 yrs in Indiana ,way to much coonhunting pressure, good coonhunting nonetheless.
So I decided, I'd go back to Michigan. A place I call "PURGATORY"
all 2900 acres.
I love Western PA where I live. It has about a 50/50 mix of crop field and woods. Landowners are super nice to hunters, and there are plenty of coon. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Golf courses,
seem like a new one being built every year around here.More retired Yankees here than up north.
