Plott Days 2005
Does anybody know anything about the hunting and the grounds in Ohio where Plott Days 2005 is being held. Just wondering. Wondering if there will be good places to camp.

can't remember where is it going to be was it north west ohio? up around Lima?should be relatively flat/rolling with lots of coon.
It is in Paulding, OH. close to the IN state line. My husband and I are driving up that way Sunday and going to check out the fairgrounds. I was told there is plenty of camping with electric and water for 70 campers. Also going to look for other motels the ones I have contacted are $80.00 a night and then go up to $90 on Friday and Saturday. They said it was because of a special event being held at the fairgrounds. So they raise the prices again.

Let me know what you find out about the camping. I am thinking of buying a camper this winter.
Also I just made a cross that should be great if the female sticks. Sire is Daybreak and the female is a female I call Honey which is the prettiest red brindle that you ever saw this little female could make a champion quick on the bench and is looking awesome in the woods. The pedgree will be a good one. I bought Honey and got her back not long ago had her sister she was a coondog and nice female had two best of shows and three places in the hunts this spring until I lost her. So I bought Honey. Other littermates doing great also. If you know anybody wanting a dual purpose bred plott pup let them know. You know Daybreak's pedgree and Honey is a grandaughter to Sizzlin Heat, also has Superior Plott Brandy,Herrell's Carter and some dogs of mine that go back to Wickham's Wt. Hol. Cooter, and Mountaineer breeding. Should be here first of the year.

Scott, let me know, I might be interested. Jake is in PA hunting and the rest of the dogs are just pups.
Sounds like a good cross.

Will do. I was hoping to stay in a motel/hotel this year instead of dragging the camper, but at that price it will be cheaper to take the camper.

Is it still first weekend in august?
Yes, until 2006. Then (if I remember right) it will be the 3rd week-end in July.
I was under the impression that if the annual date of the NPHA Plott Days were to be changed it had to be placed on the ballet for the entire membership to vote on? A few years back it was on the ballet when they moved it to June? As it don't matter to me personally, but I know several members that will not be able to attend on the new date. & all I missed at this years plott Days was one single officer, (no names mentioned)..... I guess that one member, that does not hunt or even fool with dogs are more important than the several that will not be able to make it because of there yearly Family Reunion. I can already see the good in this discussion..... Way to go NPHA, when someone disagrees with your little political "CLICK" just change the date so they can't come..... I love the way things seem to "JUST HAPPEN" in the NPHA......Please join and support out great association...

What are you talking about not heard this one? We all have things we do not like in our associations but the only way to fix this is discuss in the meeting at plotts days. I sure would like to open up the single reg but others don't and I have bought it up in the meeting before and got shot down. Also what about the buckskin plott issue this is a touchee subject but it needs to be talked about. Just rember you need to speak at the meeting and I know how some people get more power over others I do not like it anymore than you trust me cause I voice my opinion on it alot and others are the same way.

A little slack...........
This makes the second year in a row that i haven't received a NPHA yearbook and had to call about it.
Not to keep this discussion going, but I think all the organizations have some sort of problem with mailing and such. As President I was probably one of the last ones to get a yearbook this year. Since these jobs are basically volunteed jobs and we all have jobs and families, we all do what we can do when time lets us.
As for the ballot issue, Jason what was on the ballot was when the date was changed from Aug. to June to Aug., it was put on NOT to change the date for five years. The five years was up, so it was brought up at the general meeting and voted on like the other times it was changed. Like you, it doesn't make any difference to me. I know some members won't be able to make it and they are some of my best friends in the NPHA and I will miss them. We have camped together for the last couple years.
I will let you all know what I find out about the motels as soon as I find out. Don't call the first number, it is wrong, besides they don't take reservations since they have construction workers their all week.
