Lip's Ozark

One hell of a reproducer that could throw tree dogs that could run a track. I live about 50 miles from Alex Green and there are a bunch of nice Ozark hounds in the area. I don't know about that particular cross but I am familar with the fact that Ozark made alot of nice hounds around this area. I have hunted with several that were owned by pleasure hunters and never put in a hunt. Alex had great success in the hunts as did others hunting Ozark dogs The one he always liked was GrChGrNt Ch Ozarks Bandit. Bandit died young, on the road I think, but was a flat out COONDOG that would beat you quick in the hunts.
Alex is a good man and houndsman who knows a coondog and would be happy to talk about Ozark with you .

Some of the others Ozark sired were.

2000 UKC KY State Ch. Nt Ch. Rough River Ozarks Lou
2000 PKC KY State Ch Burdens Crank also a final four finish at the 2000 PKC Lady Luck Pup Shoot out . This dog was constantly in the top of the State standings in Ky in PKC for two or three years until his untimely death.
Gr.Nt Hennings Sassy
Gr Nt Rough River Jill
Nt Ch Green's Scream
The Gr Nt female they called MOM
Nt. Ch. River Ridge Kayla
Nt Ch Robinsons Lucky Lip's

There are many more !! Ozark was in and out of UKC'S TOP TEN REPRODUCERS LIST on several occasions and made the list for 2002 I think.
I also have an 8 yr old female myself that will die right here at my place.
I don't know if hunt 101 is up or not but I'll try to post her pic for you She is sired by Ozark and out of Gary Skees's GrNt Ch.Skees' DixieII( Swift Creek Magnum X Skee's Dixie I )She is Nt Ch Hickory Hill Kate. Kate wasn't put in any hunts until she was older since we mostly pleasure hunt but I have enjoyed going to some big hunts with her. She has been a Nt CH cast winner at Walker Days, The Winter Classic, National Redbone Days High Scoring Walker female, Ky Houndsmen Benefit Hunt . My son hunted her three years ago at Autumn Oaks and scored 700+ in only the second Nite Hunt he'd ever been on. Lost the cast by 25 to the High Scoring Black and Tan female that year. She's just been a pleasure for us to hunt. She's straight and will tree a coon just about every time you turn her loose.

Well , I just went to get her pic but it looks like Hunt 101 is down again. If you look back a few pages to a post Titled " Penny Caudill" you will find a pic of her taken at the Ky Houndsmens Benefit Hunt this year back in the summer.

Some of the Ozark dogs weren't the prettiest in the woods until they got TREED and most of them would get treed.
Tell me what your hounds dam is out of and how old. If she was bred here in Ky I might know some of her back ground.

I hadn't heard that he'd been sick. I just know of Ray but don't know him well. If I hear of anything I'll be sure to let you know.

Are you talking about the Ray Peyton from down around the lake or are you refering to Charlie Peyton - Slugo's Dad.

Let me know because if Charlie's been sick then I want to get down to Irvington and see him.
