Heck ringtail, I shot one last night and it was the first one since last February. I know what you mean about thin coon. I find myself saving them so I have them to run next time.

After all that time, once the coon was dead, the dog went and layed down. She couldn't have cared. I don't think dogs do it for the reward. I don't think they know why they do it. They are just wired that way!! It is nice to see that someone else conserves in thin coons though.

Happy hunting to all those in thick coon, its your time!!

WE generaly limit ourselves to 20 a season. hunting areas our dwindleing so we try to protect the numbers. That number is for two hunters.

Not trying to rub it in ar anything but, that is one thing that we do not have a shortage of around here is coons.Thank god.A couple of my buddies are trappers and they trapped over 800 last year.We average around 50 during the kill season as far as huntin the hounds. Some of the other hunters in this area arverage around 100 a season. They are thicker this year than in the past couple of years.Only 12 more days until we can start knockin em out.
