Will Someone Please Post Something Interesting?
Not to Complain, But this Board use to keep me on the edge of my chair, Couldnt wait to hear a Good Hunting Story, or read about a new Nite Champion, Lately its turned into a Bunch of Politics, and silly Games.
My Request is, A good Hunting Story, or Picture, or details from a Very Challenging Nite Hunt.

AMEN!!!
I agree Mr. Nethery 100%. This is a coonhunting site, not a politics site!
Also, I would like to congradulate you on your albino coon Mr. Nethery. My father treed one a few years back before he passed on in 2001. He had it mounted ,also. I only wish I was with him like your son was with you. I know my dad was on cloud 9 for a long time after that!Congrats again and happy huntig to you.

IF IT AIN'T BLACK,IT AIN'T A COONDOG!!
Here you go Richard ...
Tonight, my 4 year old son and I loaded up after work, and went hunting ... The "mommy" in me came out, and apparently I aggravated him with my barrage of questions ... "Are you thirsty?" .. "Do you need to go potty Honey?" ... "Are the mosquitos biting you? Do you need more bug spray?" ... I quickly understood he'd had enough of my chatter when he said, "Mommmmmmmm, will you please hush so I can hear my dog!!" ... *gigglin* ..
Here he is, listenin' to her ... Very intensely too, lol ...

I just got in from a nice hunt.
My two females struck a cold track, and worked it around through the timber a ways until they finally jumped it. The old coon ran across about half a mile of bald prairie into a big quarter section of milo stubble, and the race was on. They finally pushed him out of the milo and across a pasture, where they treed solid.
They had left the place I had permission to hunt on, so I pulled up in a driveway of some folks i didn't know. The man and his teenage son came out on the porch and were as nice as they could be. They told me to go right ahead and get the dogs and the coon if I wanted to. They stood out on the porch and listened while I walked in to them. Those two Blue bitches were singing a pretty tune. We already had some frost on the ground, and there wasn't a breath of wind, so the sound was ringing across the prairie.
As I was walking in, I saw the sight we all like to see, two yellow eyes reflecting my light back at me, and a young dog stretched up as high as she could reach, belly rubbing the bark as she spit them out every breath.
Old Grandma was sitting at the base of the tree with her clear, ringing double chop as steady as a sewing machine.
What a nice hunt. On the way back, I visited with the farmer and found out he was a pheasant hunter, and invited him to come hunt pheasants on my place.
A good night.

My hubby and brother took the dogs out a little bit ago. Took a little blue gyp that we bought sunday out with them, this is the 1st time they've taken her hunting since we bought her. I am stuck at home with the kids, which isn't too bad, they're getting ready for bed so I will hopefully have some peace. I tried to get them to take my little redbone pup with them but they decided against it since he's only seen a coon once and he's not quite 4 months old. Hopefully soon though. Wish I was huntung with them tho.

Rachel,
It was nice meeting Jay and Jerry last Sunday. I hope that little blue gyp does well for Jerry.
I think she will..... she is full of grit.

She has been doing really good adjusting to things here. She was a little trouble maker today though, it was pretty cute. I had her in the house so our male dogs would leave her alone and she must have wanted outside pretty bad, she was climbing on stuff so she could see outside and every time my 4 year old went outside she was trying to go with him. I took her out several times but I think she just wanted to run. We brought the male dogs inside and put her outside for a while tonight before Jerry, Derek and Jay took her hunting. She is a beautiful dog, Derek and I went in half with Jerry on her so we had an older dog for my redbone to hunt with when we start taking him out and I am glad we did. Thanks for a great dog! We all love her. She is pretty spoiled, she sleeps with Jerry at night. We will be glad when she is out of heat so we can keep her outside, she is much happier out there.
~Rachel
Enjoyed what you started Richard
Let's keep it going!

Richard,
Our 10 day no training law is in effect until the 10th, thats when season opens here in Southern Illinois. So, until it's time to go to school, & it's raining again, there's nothing better to do, then to come on here, & harrass SHEEPSTER, Tx. Slick Tree, OKREDS, etc. How's the hunting in the BIG THICKET these days. The last time I've been down that way, was in 92, when I placed 20th in the World Hunt at Crockett.
Looks like the kids (about 8-10 of them) at school have the first night of season all planned out. No school the next day, so they are talking about keeping me out all night. Got their gunny sacks ready, & their knives sharp. I don't think this old body can take it all night in the hills around Kinkaid Lake. LATER

Hey Richard, why don't you tell everyone about the night we went coon hunting in Devil's Ford. That place is "Interesting" to say the least, LOL.

If the price of that "Coon Dog" sounds too good to be true, it probably is....
Is that the place
where compasses don't work & it's easy to get lost?

Thanks for the great response,
Now every bit of that was interesting, I like it,
Mike wanted me to tell you about Devils Ford,
Well its a Creepy Haunted Forrest type of place, Ive heard a few old timers talk about Evil, that lurks in the woods there, Really, No kiddin.
There is also a Grave yard under water in there, you can see it on the map.
Well, Mike came down and hunted with me last winter, and brought his Awesome Bo dog, well I had been thinking about Devils Ford alot since I lost my Jewell dog there(Full Blood Smithurst Blackand Tan, Out of Concho)
And I told mike about a Geographical Oddity in the place, there is a point in there where your Compas will start spinning, its freeky,
when it does that you circle and circle, and get deeper into the woods, its kind of like the Woods have you, and dont want to let go. Well after mike had treed me a few Coons we went there for our last cast, Bo treed a Coon on that very point, Mike and I shot the Coon out, and on the way out, crossed the same creek several times, thats when Mike got nervous, and asked, whats going on? I told him to look at his Compas, it was indeed spinning,
the hunt got creepy, we were less than 300 yards from the truck, but finally came out of the woods, out of sight of it.
That place is Freeky!!!!!!!! LOL
I have not hunted there since. LOL

Thanks Richard! He is by far, my best hunting buddy ...
Just this morning on the way to school, he asked "Mama, are we goin huntin' tonight?" ... When I told him that we would be loadin up and headin out just as soon as I could get off work, he said, "Well, thank goodness! I haven't got to hunt in TWO WHOLE DAYS!!" ...
*Big Proud Mommy Smiles* .. That's my boy!!!
