Best Led Coonlight

is BRIGHT EYES 21VOLT LED BELT LIGHT the best deal on a new light,i know there are alot of good lights out there but i have heard alot of positive on this light, just wondering uncle sam owes me a few tax dollars and im going to buy a new light real soon also wondering what boot is the best out there,my last 2 pair of muck boots have blowed the heels out sooner than they should have, any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I would recommend you check out Kellys K-light. I own one and have a bright eyes as well. K-light is twice the light and is a few dollars cheaper.

you already know what the best are. Bright eyes and Muck. Yes i agree the Mucks don't last as long as they should, but foot comfort makes hunting enjoyable. Light wise, bright eyes! Dependable beyond belief, and the new white lighting led head is made to last like the rest of the package. My money is hard earned, and i know i won't be wasting it if i buy these.

We compared the brighteyes and the blazer prohead. Both are really bright. The brighteyes has a spot but lights up the tree good.Very well made Ray done good on it.

Check out K-Lights they have a new led head that I just bought that is realy nice and bright. It is cheaper and the other night at Orangeburg me and some of the guys at the hunt compared lights. The pro head and the K-Light head are close to the same except for the fact that the pro head spreads out and covers the whole tree and the K-Light head holds a tighter spot. They both are a little bit brighter than the new bright eyes white lighting led head. MY light is 21 volt and the other 2 lights mere 28volts and the K-Light was as bright if not brighter than the other lights. ProLite also makes a good boot and chap combo called Dewey Boots they are comfortable and so far are holding up nice I have used muck boots for years and love them but for $80.00 a pair on the Dewey's I decided to try them and have not been disappointed yet. ProLite also stands behind any thing they sell or make and they are realy great at repairs on lights. There web site is www.prolitecustom.com check them out. Hope this helps you out. I would appreciate it someone could bottom line these LED lights for me. How do the LED heads plugged into a 21v or 28v source compare to the Klingt or smartlight or predator that is either self contained or attached to a very small battery pack? Finnally how do the LED heads plugged into a 21v or 28v source compare brightness wise to a standard 5100 head plugged into the same source?

thank you very much. I plan on getting something this weekend at SETWD.

No comparision whats so ever. The G2 K Light head plugged into a 21 volt battery is in a complete different league than the self contained lights. It would be like comparing the Muck boots with Dans waders on them vs. Always save tennis shoes to keep your feet dry while crossing creeks.

And you now have the opinion of one. Here's a second. Bright eyyes led is hands down the finest on the market barr none. So you are now back to square one. you have two opinions, and guess what, you still have to make up your own mind on which to get.

I carry a 28 volt bright eyes box light and it has been a workhorse. I did hunt with a guy that had a smarlight or something similar and it looked like it would do a pretty good job. It certainly would be convienent. Are the LED heads alot brighter than the regular 5100 heads when plugged into a 21 or 28v battery?

yes they are brighter

The k lite g2 head is rasted at 840 lumens and the bright eyes at 1200 so if the klite is brighter someones fibbin.

conkey

i went to order the k2 21volt led light package from bruce conkey and they are out of stock,he is going to call me and let me know when they are to get more, also going to try the dewey boots and chaps, the prices seem fair on both items.

I own a Bright Eyes Led head and there is no comparison in brightness between a Pro head and the Bright Eyes. I hunted in last weeks world hunt with guys that had the G2 and the Bright Eyes and I couldn’t tell any difference in brightness between the Bright Eyes head and the G2 with my eyes while hunting. I bought the Bright Eyes head because of the way it is built and the fact that it is upgradeable. I just didn’t like the look and construction of the G2. When I switched to the Bright Eyes head from the 5100 head I removed my spotlight from my belt. I can’t imagine that anyone would need a head brighter than this White Lighting head from Bright Eyes. I am more than pleased with mine and would recommend it to anyone.

he White Lightning head is heavier than the G2. Too heavy for comfort.

Posted by David McKee on 02-24-2010 06:39 PM:

It is about 3-4 ounces heavier than the G2. I've been hunting with mine about a month now and don't notice it.

I agree with Kenny, I can't tell any difference in the brightness between the BrightEyes and Kellys LED head when shining them in a tree. I also agree both are brighter than the others out there that I have hunted with. What I do like about the BrightEyes is the craftsmanship, larger heat sink, and that its upgradeable as new LED's hit the market. There's only 20 bucks differnce in the price.
Ray and Mike both stand behind their products there is no doubt about that.
However you choose you'll be able to see a whole lot better!!!

New Led Lights

I here theres a new one out that fits on your head that puts out 500 lumens on bright and holds up 6 hours on that level and 16 hours on low. If its that bright and holds up that good for that bright it will be a good one. The little yellow spot light that was at A.O. last year just puts out 192 lumens to give you a comparsion. But, I do like the way the bright eyes and k light looks I've just got use to not having the cord and it has spoiled me.

Posted by bluebellchopper on 02-25-2010 04:03 PM:

I

don't have one but the blazer lights and head seem to be awesome! I have a bright eyes green pack bright eyes its older that hills and the brightness is 2nd to none for 21 volts. As long as it keeps working thats the only thing that will be on my side.

Lumen Ratings

Just because the lumen rating is higher on the brighteyes does not mean that it is brighter where it matters, in the trees.

There are many factors in leds that has to be considered other than lumens.
lumens are measures off the led with no reflectors or optics
Lux shows the light output in distance

so if you have a 1200 lumen with a lower LUX rating than a 840 Lumen light then the 840 lumen light is the one to get.
