2.5 miles later

Me, Ricky, Brian, Logan, Hunter, and Brianna went huntin tonight. The dogs struck right outa the box. Cassie took this big boar 2.5 miles before she treed him. We were able to drive around to a highway to get to her. I sure do love that garmin on a night like tonight. She was 250 yards off the road.

From what Ricky has told me, she sure has been a good old dog. We hunted one night at rum creek and she treed over a mile from us. It didn't take her long to get there either.

May depend on terrian. Its WEEEEET around here and big swamps and bays. Rough on the most seasoned dogs. I killed a huge bo coon tonite that didn't go far. Rut may be about over.

seperate trees... the boars around here dont strike out for miles, they're just more active and chasing females up and down trees which takes longer for the dogs to find the right tree

I tried to tell my hunting buddy that. The dogs were acting crazy one night about the 1st of feb. He was like there running trash. (if something doesn't seem to be going right he always says their running trash and everytime we'll tree a coon...Cameron! (: ) And I said no man this time of the year snow on the ground and the rut in males are running around everywhere chasing females going in and out of den trees pissing everywhere and leaving alot of scent makes it diffcult for the hounds to be accurate and finally put him up the right tree which alot of times this time of year he will be in a den. Your lucking if you catch the right coon to get him up on the outside. Because if he/she is anywhere close to one of several dens you can bet your butt that he/she is going to that den if your hound don't catch them before and make him go up a tree the coon doesn't want to go up but has to. They finally treed in a huge huge oak With 4 or 5 holes scatered from the bottom to top of the tree that night.
