Where is the best???
My son gets done with school next year and will go off to college. I am 50 and told my wife when he gets out of High School we are moving someplace based mainly on the coon and squirrel hunting. I told her I wanted to do this before I got to old to enjoy something like this, and I am getting slower each year so time is about right. Any ideas out there. Has to have lots of good hunting, but not lots of mountains or tall hills. Prefer not lots of swamps either. And while I am searching not many poisonus snakes so I can hunt year round and not worry about getting a dog bit. Let me know your thoughts. Guy

South eastern MN , south west WI or north east Iowa. You will have to be frost hardy though. Best part of all these states plus the Miss. River is close if you want to fish for everything.
sounds like Alaska might be your kind of place..lol

Missouri, Southern Missoura is a lil warmer...but more hills.
Northern Missoura is 1,000$ an acre.

I would move a little South of Columbia MO. Its a nice city, not a million miles from where you are now and you have good access to all parts of MO. I lived North of there for a while and it is nice, but I don't want to have to drive 150 miles to buy a pair of shoes .

I agree Clay, I live in west central ohio, I had a guy buy my snowmobile from PA and he said he couldn't keep his eyes off of our flat ground, he loved it, he said he's sick off all the hills around him. as far as snakes....none, just yotes and angus cattle is about all you hafta watch out for.

i'd say somewhere in mid-missouri, good hunting of all types and a good amount of public hunting ground. nc,ind,il,and ohio all have some good hunting but finding places to hunt is a bigger challenge.
I think where we live in Western PA is about the nicest all around coonhunting I have seen. It is flat where I live and about a 50/50 mix of field and woods. If you want hills, they are close, if you want swamps, they are close.
The thing is, the winter, its long and the snow is a pain.

A little east of Little Rock AR. In the right place you want find any more coon not even up north.
North eastern Ohio is nice flat coon hunting country, hunted up that way a few times now...

the best
i live in west central ohio 15 miles from indiana line my whole life. been huntin for thirty one years and hunted all over the u.s. flat nice timber corn fed deer tons of coon great people land owners and no SNAKES. i live for coon huntin and wouldnt live anyy whereelse.
i think ur just gonna have to decide weather or not you want snakes or snow......down here you can hunt all year but we have snakes in the summer....if youve got enough money the thing to do would be to buy you about 5000 acres up north for the summer and about 5000 down here in the south for the winter....lol
