measuring
here is a thought, wondered why it would really be all that necessary to measure any GR HB CH at any trial . they obviously had been measured in at least 8 times at the least to make it that far . why not allow all GRHBCH to be automatically be permenantly measured in, a benefit for them .
just for discussion
I've seen dogs too big only run at there home club. I have also seen Champions and Grand measure out at the Nats, because of this. It's not hard to permanently measure a dog if so desired and the current system keeps the buddy measuring out. Just pony up some $$$ Lol.

Dogs that are close will generally slip through if they are not standing the right way. The measurement is from the TOP OF THE WITHERS to the ground. The withers are located at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades. You can easily feel the shoulder blades. The legs need to be perpendicular to the ground and the same distance apart from the elbows to the feet. The dog should be standing naturally. Local club measuring is not usually that strict. Most dogs are obviously under 15. When a dog is close, clubs should make a good attempt to measure correctly. It is rare to see oversized dogs at our events because UKC is strict with measuring.
Some dogs grand very young. UKC does not permanent measure until 18 mo of age.
Nice spin Dan....Lol
