Briar Cliff Battle
Anyone know where any pups out of Briar Cliff Battle are? Or if he's still alive?
I bought a pup off of him from Tim but I had to put him down last weekend. I was just wondering if anybody knew how the littermates were doin or if there were any of his pups were available. The last time I talked to Tim was right before he went overseas.
BTT, looking for the two littermates to my dog, out of Battle and Ray's North Fork Zipper owned by Mr. Ray Alger. There were three males in the litter, I had one and I think the other two went to NC or that area.
He's alive and well in Arkansas, still treein coons...
Kyle,
The two littermates to yours went to Mr. James Cadigan Jr in Ky. I have not spoken to him in about a year, so I have no info on them. I have James's number at home, but I can't get it until I get home...I will try and call him after I get back.
Carl....thanks for the kind words. I have about 10 days left out here and I am finally heading home. It has truly been a long year, but a real rewarding year. Our American forces are doing some great things out here...everyone should be real proud of them.
As for Battle, Louise has him at her house in Arkansas, so he can get hunted during the winter months...As you know, the weather gets pretty harsh in Wisconsin. Last I heard, she was considering raising a few litters. We are not advertising him, but will breed to whom ever. He is currently not paid up as a sire, but we could probably do so with some interest. He is hunted 2-3 nights a week and still does a great job. Louise owns a real nice NTCH out of Battle and a Cutter female.
Not sure if Ray plans to make the Zipper cross again, but that might be an idea. I know Bart Hainz has a littermate to Zipper for sale for $500. Maybe Louise would consider that....
I will be in touch
Thanks again.
Tim

Thank you for your service Tim and best of luck getting home. Where will you be settling when you get back? Glad to hear Battle is doing well. he is still the loudest dog I've heard yet in the woods.

Hey Rick,
Thanks for the kind words on Battle...I sure miss hunting him.
The Air Force has decided to send me to Hawaii to stand up the last F-22 unit. My coonhunting will be on hold for another 2-3 years at least. I got Battle collected last year, so if something were to happen to him, I could produce a litter...we have 7 breedings stored up at Dean's in Indiana with some Stylish Reno semen as well.
Since Reno and Banjo were basically brothers from other mothers...I hope to produce some females from the Reno stock to breed back to my Battle semen in hopes of producing some balanced coondogs that have above average noses and mouths..we are looking for speed and accuracy most of all....coon dogs...
Carl...thanks again for the thoughts and prayers..

Btt, let me know if you have one out of Battle that is a coondog ormaking a coondog.
Hey Kyle...Haven't been on here in quite awhile, just by luck I logged in tonight. We have not bred any females to battle in at least two years...he is at a friend of mine's in Arkansas and she hunts him a couple of times a week...I will be in Hawaii until Apr 2013, so I am really out of the coonhunting right now. Battle will be 10 in Aug, and he is healthy as a horse, so hopefully he will live long enough for me to come back to the main land. I do have him collected in the event he was to pass, so I will produce a litter eventually...but just don't know when. If anyone was interested in breeding to him before I returned, I would definitely let them and put them in touch with the person that has him...but I am just out of pocket right now.
Hope all is well....
Tim

i have a male that'll be 4 in september.hes out of battle and alfords hurricane dixie. ive owned him for 2 and a half years. always wondered about "briar cliff battle". never heard much about the dog..... anybody know of or own any others from this cross?
Thanks Carl...hope all is well....
Get Treed, I do not remember the cross of Battle X Dixie. It is strange, considering I have owned him since he was 14 months old. He did stay at a guys house in Catawba Va for brief period while I was in the desert and I had given him permission to breed a few females, so I suspect dixie may be one of them. Who is Dixie out of?
Hope the dog is doing a good job for ya.
Tim
