YOU CAN ENTER HER 1 TIME ONLY, THEN SHE HAS TO BE IN YOUR NAME.

Ed, as the New Owner, you may enter the dog one time on the Bill of Sale so long as it is completely filled out. Enter the dog in the previous owners name and put yourself down as the handler. That way if you place in the event the owner and dog info will match the UKC number and what UKC currently has on record for that specific dog.

In accordance with the rules, it is not an option to use the previous owners EZ Entry Card while your papers are being transferred. The rules state that the EZ Entry Card becomes void after the dog is sold.

What about a multiple night event, ie Walker Days?

Can I enter my dog on the signed off papers on Thursday for the Lee Crawford hunt, then again on Friday or Sat? Per the rules pasted below, the 'club management has the right to refuse entry at following events' but it doesn't state that they must not let you enter.

any thoughts????

2. THE “NEW OWNER”

The new owner is an individual who has purchased a dog from the registered owner. The new owner may enter the dog provided that the Transfer of Ownership portion of the Registration Certificate (purple or yellow) is completely filled out showing the new owner as the purchaser and the registered owner as the seller. A Registration Certificate that has been signed off on the back cannot be used by an individual other than the new owner.

The registered owner is listed as owner and the new owner as handler for the event. New owners may not enter using the registered owners UKC Easy Entry™ Card.

In the event that the Transfer of Ownership portion of the Registration Certificate is not completely filled out, entry takers must insist that the new owner complete it. The new owner should be warned that they must send the Registration Certificate to UKC for transfer into their name. Once warned, club management has the right to refuse entry at following events. Altered Registration Certificates or UKC Easy Entry™ Cards are not to be accepted at any time. NOTE: The Registered Owner (seller) must fill out the back of the form completely with the exception of new owner’s ignature. With any alterations the Registration Certificate becomes void. UKC cannot be responsible for errors caused by illegible handwriting

I was told once by Todd Kellem, a hunter was able to hunt on completly filled out papers one weekend, instead of one hunt.

For example if a club was having a 2 night hunt, a dog could be entered both nights that weekend. You can tell by the date on the papers of coarse. If the papers were dated a couple weeks ago, I did not allow entry.

AS a MOH, I have allowed this for the last couple years. AM I DOING RIGHT?????

From alot of threads on here lately about paper processing times, LOL, might be in one's best interest to hold on till after the hunt before sending in papers.

Allen what happens when the the dog is entered on the old EZ entry card? and wins? Would the wins not count?

Seems to me that the dog hasn't changed owners ( officially ) until the papers are sent in and processed. Allen has posted UKC's stand on this so I'd do it that way but I know Ed has a 2 night hunt at his club this weekend and only being able to hunt 1 night is a 50% fix. The purpose of this whole senario is to be able to hunt a dog the weekend you get them and then send in the papers for a change of ownership and get them back before you need them again. It's nearly impossible to get papers in and back in 1 week's time so maybe some type of 1 month grace period should be developed off the old entry card . I'd be hard pressed to remember the last pup or dog I got with anything more than a signature on the papers and in the case of an adult dog you're pretty much on the honor system about sending them in. Mostly people who are straight up honest and try to play by the rules are the ones that get burnt and the ones who don't care can hunt a dog til it dies of old age and nobody even knows about it.
