MUST attempt to locate the hole after the track ended regardless of how many dogs ran the track. Dogs are not required to run a specific distance before ending at a hole. MUST attempt to locate the hole prior to splitting on new track. After the attempt is made judge will inform you of how it is being scored. If you do not agree you can question the call and ask for a vote. Refusal to attempt to locate the hole before starting a new track would be a rule violation and possibly unsportsmanlike conduct which is a scratchable offense at a minimum. Catch your dog and Question the judges decision of not attempting to locate the hole before starting a new track. Ask for a vote. The question must be taken to the master of hounds before continuing the hunt because unsportsmanlike conduct is a scratchable offense. Before splitting on the new track any question about the previous track needs to be made and voted on. Can not question the call later on in the hunt and certainly not after the hunt has ended. Judges are chosen because they are fair and honest and have excellent knowledge of the rules. In a split decision on a normal judgement call the MOH would likely go with the Judge. However refusal to locate the hole before starting a new track is a rule violation so the vote does not play the same role. Hope this helps some.
Well if judge said to handle dogs, then you have to handle dogs then vote on splitting on the rabbit seen.If ONE handler says no i don't want to split then you can not split. That rabbit should have never been scored.First rabbit should have been circled if not seen and hole was found.

rule 15 A, It is a majority of cast decision to split if rabbit is seen by majority of cast. If not seen by majority it is a unanimous decision.
hey guys, still waiting to hear from you. has nobody out there never had this happen to them ?
The original track dog A had pursued to a hole should have been handled prior to the split. If the judge said handle your dog you handle your dog period. After comeing to a conclusion of the track and it's scoreing ( if it was a hole or the same rabbit ) Then the cast MUST vote on spliting the strike points but only needing a majority vote because ALL cast members seen the rabbit and then a conclusion of the 2nd track. Many times people get that rabbit fever and not meaning to skip a few steps of process and get in a mess happened to us last week in our champ cast lol
hope this helps
Thanks

Sam,
I am guessing that your question was thrown out because your question and vote occured after the hunt ended. Consider it a learning experience. Now you know the question and vote must be made before starting a new track. Regardless the question and vote would have been 2 to 2. The master of hounds would likely side with the judge that he appointed because it is a judgement call. Would not have changed the outcome. Just press on and keep running those dogs.
