Pat on the Back for Christy.

Christy this is my personal opinion and feel when I have been critical I should also be person enough to recgonize the positives.
I was critical about several of your first post on here. They just had too much drama in them for me. With that said, lately I feel real positive about several of your post. The one with your daughter and pup were adorable and demonstrated a very positive learning experinece for both of them. The way you are working with your pups is a credit to you. I looked at their pedigree and it is as good as it gets in the walker breed. There could be several very good coondogs from that litter. Hope you, your husband and family continue to enjoy them.

Bruce...

Thank you so much.

It really means alot to me when someone compliments me & my family like that. Quincy and I work so hard to train our dogs. No we don't win every hunt that we enter. We are in a hunt at least 2 weekends out of the month. We have a total career win of-4. Molly 2nd place with 50+ tied for 1st had more -.
Bull 1st place with 388+ and 2nd place with 238+
Hank 1st place with 125+

We really and honestly try soo hard to help our dogs do what they are bred to do. No they are not perfect. Yes, they run trash. Hank caught a skunk Thurday night, imagine how imbarassing it was to pull in to our club with our truck and our dog smelling like a skunk!!

We don't breed our dogs, just to have puppies and raise money. Because lord knows we've spent more on them than we'll probably ever raise by selling the 2 we got left.

But see, that's the thing, we're not in it to make money, we truly want to make the Walker breed better. That is why we bred Hank and Molly, they both have qualities that compliment something that the other lacks.
Hank is LOUD, Molly is not.
Hank is can run a hot or a cold track, Molly can not.
Hank can ocasionally lay-up, Molly has 1 time.
Hank is fast, Molly is not.
Molly will sometimes hit the backtrack, Hank has not-YET.
Molly is almost a true-broke-coondog. Little more work on possums. Hank is not.
Molly is sooooo hard headed and stubborn. Hank is not.

As soon as our pups are old enough to run, we start fooling with them. Taking them on short walks and stuff. These pups are 13 weeks old now, and they are not scared to cross a creek, are not scared to take off with the dogs and see what they are doing. I really truly think that it helps them later not to be afraid of stuff.
