Speaking of rules.........

Three days till deadline!
UKC made Feb 15 the deadline for submitting rule change proposals to your respective breed association. How many submitted a change proposal? What was it?
I got a feeling the early deadline will cause a significant reduction in the number of change priposals because tradutionally, most of us haven't gotten fired up about discussing any changes until Autumn Oaks starts to roll around. If you wait till then this year, you will have missed the boat.

All game ,includeing but not limited to,possum,squirrel,armadillas,cats,porkys,fox,badg
ers,whistlepigs and hoodoos, shall no longer be discriminated against and will be scored same as a raccoon.

I already have firm YES comittments from 3 of the breeds.

I think treeing any off game no matter the type of cast, should be grounds for scratch.

JiM and I got out for awhile today. Took a female to get bred and worked on solving the worlds problems over dinner and then it was right back into hibernation.
For some reason the years go by faster and faster but the winters get longer. Funny how that works.

Jim, who do I get ahold of walker breeed, I want to see these2 things change in UKC. Having to show an easy entry card, my goodness if you have the number why do you need a card, the other KC's have no issues, problems or nothing this is just an inconveinent.
2. To allow Hunt Directors to hunt in the hunt, again the other KC's have no issues, problems ect.. with this format, its like UKC treats us like a bunch of kids!!

Who do I send in my rules proposal change to, please give me name, phone number, email address or some kind of contact information. Thanks, and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

3. Allow Autumn Oaks to come up with a format to have a hunt off for National Champion, if they can do it with Grand American they can do it with Autumn Oaks!!

david, each breed gets one vote. and ukc has veto power.
how the breed asc.'s decide which way they are going to vote is totaly up to them I believe.
if they all use some kind of survey system to arrive at their decision, or if ol bill is the one that is going to the rules meeting at autumn oaks this year and they trust him to make a decision for them cause hes been coonhunting for 60 years, i dont know.
I do know the president of the walker asc. makes a lot of phone calls reminding members about rule proposal deadlines and asks opinions about
proposals on the table. It is just one of many reasons I respect him and the asc. as much as I do. He may let it go in one ear and out the other, but at least he dont call collect. rofl

Minus all off game instead of scratching. Most dogs that tree one can't come back anyways..

And finally, Take away the leash lock rule so all dogs must hunt 2 hours. If you pull off and all dogs are treed then turn that one loose. Let him go tree his own instead of leading him half mile to a tree you can't get any of. This is and the declining tree rule in every KC should be a must.

If all dogs must hunt a 2 hour cast.. then how fair is it to lead him 45 minutes on the chain to another dog? So really he hunted 1:15 minutes and got took on a walk for 45 minutes. I can do that much around my house. Just My opinion.
