The only way for you to really know is to unsnap the hound(s).
Looks like the tempts. will be in the teens after this wkend.Might be your last good nite for awhile.
I say load "em" up and findout.
THEY can lay up for awhile while with out eating at least aweek with out comeing down .bout like bear they just don,t lay in as long .
I live in the hell hole of snow.
Generally if it is a fresh heavy snow they will den up for a while. But also if you are at home with no food in the cupboard and you get dumped on will you stay there or go to town to get a pizza.
Yup you would.
Grab yor dog and go

Around here when it is light fresh deep snow, for a coon, 8 inches and up, you won't tree any. After it crusts over and they can walk on top of it they will get out a little. Bad thing is the crust cuts up the dogs feet after a drop or two. I stay in with momma or go to a less crusty area.

snow
I’ve treed coon all my life in snow but if it gets real cold 15 or below they ain’t movin. Right now I wouldn’t care if they were movin because I’m not trying to hunt no dog in the 30 inches of snow we got last night. It was all I could do to walk to the dog kennel 100 feet from the house, it was drifted up past my waist in spots. Getting old I guess.
