i need help

does anyone have any ideas on how to cure my dog of treeing possums ,read all of this before you post . up until last week he has treed a possum everyonce in a while , can be forgivin , but since last monday i have treed 6 in 4 different nights . workin himover with the dead possum doesnt work ,usein the leash doesnt work ,neither does my boot. he has treed three coons and he isnt treein them like he has before .usually i can fix his problems but this has got me baffled . you can make a joke out of this but i just want some ideas.

Back off a couple of nights, then take him back out. If he trees another, just pull him off and send him on. Sometimes I think the weather plays a big part on what scent is strongest on the ground.

went through this with a young redbone male, was kicking butt hard on coon then switched to grinners, took a shock collar, and some good juice to straighten out that problem! i busted his ass for treeing one twice in a row, then that knucklehead had the gall to catch one on the ground and bring it to me! i broke him of that real quick! the more stubborn they are the more juice it takes, but it works! they realize quick that coon means praising and grinners means ouchy ouch big time! just my opinion, hope this helps! thanks Jeff Eaves for letting me borrow your shock collars! they do wonders!

mtn valley hank, i have heard knockem out and wear him out with it but i heard just snap the dog up and be firm and take him from the tree. yes i have knocked them out and wore him out ,a gentleman explained it to me today in a way that made sence.


coondawg hunter, cant use a shock collar on him ,when he was young i lived on the lake and had to put a bark breaker on him and he figured it out ,if i put one on him and try to hunt he will hunt but wont bark a lick.
