We have our youth hunts and all I just thought it'd be nice to have a ladies hunt couple times a year.

They're were some clubs that had Ladies hunts but I think they lacked support and stopped. The men cooked while the Ladies hunted, I do believe.....Kind of cool.....

A club down here threw the idea around but couldn't get a commitment for enough people.

I think it's a great idea. If you could get one near one of the "bigger" hunts so it would allow people who would already be coming, to hunt.

I would have to borrow a dog from a friend in VA or SC you know who you both are........

LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE THE IDEA!! && Putting around one of the bigger hunts would probably draw a bigger crowd.

Or run it kind of the the slam hunts before the winter classic or such. Hold it the day before one of the big ones kick off so the people interested in hunting the other hunt wouldnt miss out.

I bet yall could get some good donated prizes just because there is a lack of events just for women!

I would be interested in participating, too. I have a friend of mine that is in Salisbury and I think she would go to the hunt, although she might have to borrow one of my boys until hers grows up a bit (LOL).

Cynthia, yes, they have it every year. This was the 1st year that I joined a club, before I just pleasure hunted. I went to that hunt in Raeford this past fall, too. It was a lot of fun. There was enough for 4 casts, maybe more will show up this year. The men cooked a jam up dinner also.

Count me in!! I will definitely have to borrow a dog from Dixietimber since I only have a 7 month old pup in training! LOL I attended the hunt in Raeford, NC and had a blast even though I only had a pup to hunt. I met Dixietimber and her husband there and we have been hunting together since then.
We ( husband and myself) had a wonderful time with Dixie timber and her husband at the deer lease this fall. We coon hunted one night when the guys wimped out....lol It was like 25 degrees and when we asked if they wanted to go they laughed at us, well it didn't take us long to get ready and off we went. We left the guys in the trailer playing dominoes'.
We got up deer hunted until 10:00am went back to the woods squirrel hunting, then back to the woods deer hunting and then topped the night off coon hunting.. BOY we must be nuts huh???
We had alot of fun!

aint nuts- sounds like loads of fun! That the way to do it haha That's another reason why I think this will be a great idea- I'd love to meet some women that have the same passion I do for huntin. Round here only time you see a lady is the young ones with their boyfriends and never see em agian lol

I sent an email to UKC and he wrote me back today and said he was gonna see what he could do!! I am very excited. Said he would try and throw the idea around and see how it went- Keep your fingers crossed ladies hopefully itll turn out good

I'm dying to meet up with ladies that hunt! I'm new to coon dogs, have my first Walker pup that I have to start (used to show terriers and have a bunch) and having been wanting to meet up with some gals!
Count me in!

By the way, there's a Red Bone-sponsored hunt at the Eno River Coon Hunters club in Cedar Grove, NC (Durham, Hillsborough, NC area) Feb 18, 19, & 20. Breed, Open hunt, bench, races, and treeing contest, food, and camping. Last year was a good time, good hunt, and good turnout. I'm a member of the club and will be working the kitchen--please say hello to me if you attend!
