Never ask a man what kind of dog he has. If he has a hound he'll tell you, if he does not, you don't want to shame him by asking.
If you have a place where she can run loose i'd bet that'll solve your problem. I like a highstrung pup.
You can channel the energy but you cant give em the desire to get out there and go a wise ol redbone man once told me lol.
road her about 2 or 3 miles off a 4 wheeler about 3 hours before you go ,had one like that once ,if you didnt road him he ran through the woods like a gazel, if you did road him he was a coon treein machine

i might have to try that.she isnt what i would call broke but she absolutly hates a coon and i think she would be a great dog if she would just slow down and "hunt" as it is she acts like she's all jacked up on mountain dew.

If you are feeding a high protein food maybe this is part of it. Some dogs eat a high-pro food and get all kinds of extra energy. Maybe you could back down on the protein ratio some to better match what your hunting level is. Could be something to look at.
