Flying Hounds on a plane?

Is there anything you can give a hound to make his flight more comfortable or do you give them anything at all? Especially if they have to hunt the next day?

flying hounds

Many airlines don't recommend sedating your dog as it makes it hard to check the dog for problems ,just make sure they are well fed long before the flight and cleaned out ,also make sure the kennel is well marked with all the info. needed.Make sure pet is loaded before leaving . Pet must have water prior to flight but not at check in,but must be available in flight in the kennel in a secure container.Hope this helps a bit.

feed them good the knight befor

and then let them clean out good befor there flit and use a crat that so when they pee it goes through the top of the part they lay in and the bottem part of the crat catches the pee so they dont lay in it and never cedate one on a flite becalws they will think they are just in a crat on the ground and the crat is the most inportant .david .ps i have flew maney and it does not hurt them one bit long as they are not in the plane over 24 houres.

doesnt it depend on the time of year too? I was told this time of the year when the temp. dropped to a certain degree they wouldnt allow pets to fly.??? make sure with the airline you choose!
