Hound Hunters Take Notice

I just wanted all you hound hunters to look at this. Feb 2010 issue of Coonhound Bloodlines. Page 10 Heads up and page 130 HSUS targets houndsmen. We need everyone who hunts with dogs, bear, coon, cat, birds, rabbits etc. to join together and start to fight this. Everyone should check out the humane society web site and see what they are about. Start to flood there site with our views. Just becarefull and smart about what you say and do. They will look for and capitallize on our mistakes. Come on guys lets start to ruffle there feathers some. Make it hard on them. Ask UKC to help us out and advise us what to do.

I just checked out there website and saw nothing about hunting with hounds? I have not seen the magazine yet either.... HSUS is usually one of the "better" animal rights groups and am a little supprised they are starting something. Could you elaborate on the topic? Have you seen anything on there site? I know there are always keyboard/pencil hero's that love to just say things for hearing themselves speak. Is it possible the article has no base? Just curious. This great american tradition that is so barron to begin with does not need any sort of negative propaganda to hurt it more!

Did not read there web site, just what was in the Coonhound Bloodlines. The writers of the column for UKC have said to go to web site for HSUS. www.humanesociety.org/issues/hound_hunting/.

There is no such thing as a "good" AR group. "Better" still wants to outlaw hunting and put animals on the same level as humans.

Bloodlines is a reputable publication and I do not believe they would print anything that was baseless.

The Humane Society is not to be trusted, and are in the same camp as PETA.

I agree with RIP. And the way the column starts on page 10 they want all to see it. Any animal rights group is totally against the hunting community. And to Rexrode, our hunting tradition needs all the help we can get. Just sitting back and thinking everything is ok is a foolish way to be.

They say we do not take care of our hounds and that is especially true when hunting season is out. Most hound hunters I know think more of there dogs than there neighbors. GET THIS INFO OUT TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW OF WHO HUNTS WITH DOGS. BETTER YET ANY HUNTING ORGANIZATION WHO HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH HUNTING. WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET. JUST EVERYONE GET INVOLVED. ASK UKC TO HELP US MAYBE THEY CAN MAKE FORM LETTERS FOR US TO USE TO SEND TO POLATICIANS LIKE THE ANIMAL WACOS DO.

"hunting for the lazy hunter" this one made me laugh.

they put all of us in the same group as the select fewe that actually treat their hounds like crap...

thats like saying since our president is an idiot we all are.. there were alot of us who were smart enough to not vote for him..lol

you better do some investigating into hsus what would ever make you think there one of the better animal welfare groups, they do absolutely nothing for animals are nothing more than terrorist that have a political agenda that in no way does anything good for animals of any kind

They kill more dogs than anyone ... They say all pitbulls are mean if you take them a pitbull they kill it...in Ga....My dog is treated better than most people... You can smoke dope and draw welfare , but I can't have my hunting dogs .... Meagen Sewell was the Lady's name in the video she went out and found the worst hunters she could find and said we are all like that..I bet she don't eat meat not even her husbands....

the AR groups are all just a bunch of liberal hippies that dont appraciate what we do for them i'm sure about the time that go out to there garbage cans and a bunch of coons tore all there trash out because of over populating they'll change there tunes. These AR groups do not relize how much hunting means with out hunters like us the animals would be over populated and starve to death do to lack of food, These people see coons or bears as cute furry little animals and they dont relize that if there was a human season that the animals would hunt us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK....couple things here! #1 its Rexroad not Rexrode.....its right there in front of you! #2 I never said I was a part of hsus, or agreed with there theory's. They are usually more tactful with there propaganda, thats why I asked....#3. I just asked if the info was on there website. Why would they not post the info. on there sight? (I know they did but someone said dont look for it on there sight) Dont they want more fanatics? #4. NO ONE IS IN THE SAME CAMP AS PETA. There should be a hunting season for them! Next time read a ? as a ? and do not attempt to attack me or what I am about. You dont know a **** thing about me. I have hunted and hunted with hounds since I was old enough to hold a rifle and a leash! I do think there are a lot of bad seeds out there that hurt the sport and do nothing but supply fuel for there fire.

After seeing the video and reading there stuff......Of course they are way out there on there claims as a generalization. I have never heard of a 40 dog pack though? If that video is real.....what kind of ahole whips there dog? There are a lot of bad apples in this sport, acting like there is not, is not going to help our cause. I have been in the woods when I was a kid and saw handlers shoot there dog because they treed a cat, or on the wrong tree. If I saw someone do that now I would shoot them. I am a hunter that cares way more about my hounds then 99% of the people in this world. I am not saying I agree with there stance in anyway shape or form. I am just saying that there are a lot of ignorant aholes that go out of there way to hurt this sport. We definitely need to do more to support and most importantly EDUCATE people to what this is REALLY about, and next time you see someone acting like an idiot or mis handling hounds etc.... then do something about it. We are not going to stop groups like peta, etc.... they are fanatics and extremely ignorant. We can provide the positives to everyone though.

A local town banned deer hunting after someone hung one out in there front yard. (it was a nice buck, I would want to show it off myself!) Some little kid driving by with her parents went balistic over the fact that someone shot bambi. A bunch of mothers (mostly) got together and got the hunting season banned. After one year of this being in place there were more deer then you can even imagine! (the town boasted one of the biggest state forrests in that state) They were getting into garbage, devouring all the gardens (any vegetation really), on peoples porches, just causing a lot of problems. There were record amounts of car accidents (actually insurance companys got on board and begged the town to uplift the ban) By next deer season those same mothers would have been willing to dress and drag the deer for you. LESSON LEARNED!!! We cannot rationalize with fanatics.

Hey guys, I write the Your Dog, Your Rights column for Bloodlines. I'd like to write a response to the HSUS 'facts' about hound hunting, but I really need your help. I want the facts to come from the real dog owners to refute the garbage put out there by the AR's who probably don't even have pet dogs. So email me your thoughts, stories, etc. to put their 'facts' to shame!

HSUS is totally against animal agriculture. One of their main goals and they have been very open, is the abolition of eating meat. Hunting just makes them sick. There the largest AR group with deep pockets. The commercial on TV where the holstein cow is down and being pushed with the loader. That cow has been pushed for years. I block that commercial out everytime it comes on. When New Orleans had the hurricane, HSUS was first on the screen to help unite pets to rightful owners. HSUS collected 34 million dollars from their plea for help. Only after that state filed a lawsuit against them was money sent. They actually did send 600,000 thoursand back to assist. Where did the other 33.4 million end up?

HSUS is a humane society in name only – it operates NO pet shelters or adoption facilities anywhere in the U.S. and contributes only about 4% of it’s annual budget to organizations that operate dog and cat shelters. (consumerfreedom.com)

This is an attack on our rights just like everything else these animal rights groups do hopefully we as houndsmen can and stand together and stop this before it gets out of hand. America is fast becomeing a socialist country and our leaders are now no more than dictators shoving their green peace,animal rights, gay rights agenda, and their anti Christian veiws down our throats. I for one am fed up with it and think we need to stand up for our rights as houndsmen and as americans. The media always wants to show the bad in people but never the good. What the hunting clubs that have benifits and give donations to those in need in their community we never hear these stories being told in the headlines. Coon hunters are like a giant family and when one hurts we come together to help. I think we need to get a hound hunter in the white house and in congress and put america back on the right track. If our country would have tried this stuff they are pulling now 50 years ago there wouldn't be a single person sitting by not doing anything. I for one think it is time we stand and say we want America Back!!! sorry for getting on my soap box this just gets me fighting mad time for me to get my dogs ready and head to the woods for the night. About HSUS I was on a PKC hunt a few years back in Pa. when a friends hound was shot and killed by the land owner. The Pa game commision would not come out and neither would the Pa state police. He called the Pa branch of humane society ( dog catcher ) and that office did push the issue and take it to court. He won his case. Did not get enough for the dogs worth. But did they do it to help him or to just go after the a hole who did the shooting. If you really want to see a dirty s.o.b. you should have wittnessed the lawyer for the defense. He just laughed at the worth of a coon hound. Also seems that at least in Pa there were different rules for hunting dogs over just pets, not that just pets do not mean as much to there owners as the hunting dogs do for us.
