2010 Purina Points Race; I'm thinking of making a run at this year...

Does anyone know where I can find an event schedule for this year 2010 Purina Points Race? I would like to possibly try and follow a couple hunts this year I plan to start at SETWD in Salisbury, NC next month. I looked for a current schedule all on the UKC front page. I looked under hunting programs and dog events but all I could find was last years schedule. Does anyone know if they have a schedule posted yet and where one is listed? Thanks for the help any would be greatly appreciated.

I also was just curious as to how many people follow these events and the Pro's and Con's of them. This would be my first time getting involved in the coonhound races so any advice or help you can give would be nice.

I did gather that the listing of RQE's are also Purina Points Events but I would think there are surely more events than just those and a separate schedule for them as well. But I'm asking I don't know?

I guess I’ll be taking a crack at qualify for the UKC world too if that’s the case. Will see if we can’t get r done early at Walker Days.

I think that is it an you only get points for one RQE cast win.
They can only have one big hunt every weekend or it would be 1/2 a big hunt.

You said you would start the weekend of SETWD, but take notice that there is a Purina Points event in NC the weekend before that in your home state. Southern Redbone Days in Cedar Grove, NC (between Durham and Burlington off I-85). Many of the events listed require travel, so it's important to hit those closer to home when possible.....

I haven’t ever run these events before; I'm just a young man but was thinking I might give it a shot. The downside to all that is no matter how good a dog you have without money it's hard to do any of those things, like travel and participate in the entire series of events it will takes to win. I hate I missed the Grand America, would have loved to hunted in that one I won't be making the Winter Classic either. I more less just seeing what I can do in the few I do attend maybe next year I can get serious. However the SETWD I do plan to attend already sent in the entry form, I am going to try and get qualified there though.

Does anyone know how the points system is setup for these events; are they based off the particular event, placement at the event..?
