Female coming into heat ?

My female came in heat her first time on the 25 of Nov. Took her to the vet Friday the 22 and she is swelling up. Vet asked if she had ever been in heat and I explained to her when. She said looks like she is coming back in. I asked if they are only supposed to come in 2 times a year and she said yes. Told me to watch for signs of infection which I haven't seen. She is bigger today than Friday. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? I usually hunt males but this heat thing is really messing things up. She went back down after being in heat also and every thing seemed normal with her heat cycle at the time.

Female dogs are alot like human females --- not all are regular.

Has she been around any females in heat...........All mine but one cycled to where they all come in heat at the same time. That meant some where real early from when they would have normally come into heat.

I had one last year come out of heat and 2 months later start a false pregnancy -- pregnancy is 63 days so it lined up. Signs appeared she was in heat with swelling.............I had her spayed during this time and vet said she was a little bloody as well.

i have seen young females go thru a half a$$ heat..where they bleed off but don't really swell up like they should..then in 3-4 mos they come in with a normal heat..

She is the only female I have and it has been right at three months since she came in. This just blows my little mind. Came in heat ten days into season and now that the weather isn't so bad she is swelling up again! This is why I hate hunting females. Makes me want to pull my hair out. She came out of heat, put her in one hunt as early as I could and got a first on her and then the weather got bad and now this.

will this be her second heat? you may want to count your blessings, cause if she has normal intervals after this heat. she atleast shouldn't come in during coon season next yr..

I guess this will be her second heat cycle. I mean she swelled up real big and bled and everything the first time. If this is going to be her cycle I guess it will have to be fine but what a pain in the butt. I HATE FEMALES. They are a nessicary evil to carry on with but man enough is enough.

Went and checked her earlier and she had some blood coming out. The only thing is it was dark red looking and not like what females in heat usually looks like. Usually they have kind of watery looking discharge I thought. I'll keep an eye on her and see what happens. Is this something I should take her back to the vet for?
