-- Single Registration? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=325598)
Single Registration?
What exactly is the deal?
Can you knowingly single register crossbreds?
Could a person breed a walker to a collie and single register the pups that met breed standards and treed coon?
Josh, that sounds like they would make great prospects for the english breed, the best english GR NT I ever hunted with was bred that way.
Single Registration is the procedure by which a purebred dog, not born in a UKC registered litter, may be registered with United Kennel Club, Inc. Dogs must be registered with a UKC acknowledged registry, and show proof of such by submitting a copy of the Registration Certificate from that registry.
This is what I found on UKC website...
Hmmmmm, Im still wondering how a crossbred gets single registered?

Hey John, like I said, if you go to that link, click on one of the coonhound breeds, it list single registration info.........Just like I stated..............I never stated it listed single registration requirements, I said it listed single registration info........And I will show it does.
Perhaps you might want to put on your reading glasses.
Here is an example -- B&T Coonhound

And here is what the info list when you click on it.

So like I said, it gives single registration info......did it not?
you are correct buckshot
Cross breeds such as the one stated will not be single registered single registration is for pure bred dogs that are not registered like if you had a neighbor that had two really goo hunting walkers and neither were registered and you bought a pup well you get him registered with the walker association and pay the fees they will then decide if it looks to be a full blooded walker and register it with ukc but only after it meets there requirements

Re: Single Registration?
Josh was asking for more than a contact person, I believe. The info. you searched out is outdated, anyway. Its for 2009.
Don't get all worked up about it. Some things you just can't find out or know by pecking away at a computer.
Now, back to the subject...

Thanks John, I think I understand it better now.
John, the reason UKC provides the link for single registration on those breed pages is help provide the customer with the contact info................Granted 2009 ended 13 days ago so normally the info will be up to date to provide the current info.
It is amazing what you can find by pecking away on a computer.....just like the breed pages provide the registration info and who to contact concerning single registration ----- since UKC does not handle the single registration as that is done by the breed assocations, they give you who to contact to get'r done..............especially since each breed assoc. requirements are all not the same and not all are open and some only opened certain times a year.
KInda the point I posted this:

Each coonhound breed assoc. has their own rules and requirments concerning single registration.
Go to this page and look up each coonhound breed as it shows single registration info:

So what do I do if I have 1 that's outta 2 registered UKC dogs but are different breeds?...
