Trackers???? Cell phone towers

do you guys think they could cell phone towers for a tracking system ,kindof like the garmin , but use cell towers instead, just something i was sitting here bored thinking about .... be nice im not the sharpest tack in the cabnit lol

Use SunSpot Lights, so bright its like the sun came out at night !!!

I believe that they have some in the UK that already do that. I have poor phone reception were I hunt so I don’t think it would work for me.

Verizon, Alltell and all the others can't even get our cell phones to work consistently, I'd never trust them to help me keep tabs on my hounds.

Tracker brand was working on a system

before Sportdog took them over. The collar would have a cell phone number and it would send an encrypted message simular to a text your cell phone/receiver. You would have to have two phone lines and text messaging plan. They were using 2 different carriers. One was T-Mobile and I can't remember the other. Good idea, but your monthly phone bill would be pricey. The great thing about it, was you could be in Indiana and track a dog in Idaho, if both were getting a signal.
