my 2 cents

i haven't posted on her in a while and thought i jump over this one in the last past week or 2. there has been talk on the message board about cross breeding hounds. plain and simple in every of the 6 breeds of hounds. there are different style of hounds that suit different style of people. so in saying that if you can't find what you looking for in a certain breed of hound you should switch breeds. i'm a redbone hunter and people say they are lazy or not stay put tree dogs etc. etc. etc. for those people that think that i what a redbone is all i can say is come on up i will show you different. me and my brother have the same strain of redbone. but have different types of dogs that we like. he likes a dog that flat out gets deep (nose not very important to him can be medium to hot nosed) and be alone most of the time split treed. know to me i want a medium hunting dog with a cold nose and can lay a coon up, with out a track. i give a rat ass if he is split treed as long as he is treed and has a coon when i get there. anyways back to the subject you should be able to breed any traits in a hound you want and not have to bring in a walker or bluetick etc.etc. and if you can't maybe your not the breeder you think you are. people just have to pull the heads out of there butts and start looking at dogs in the own breed, stop being strain blind and start working together when this is done the redbone breed will boost to new extreme's. and if you think this can't be done just sit back and watch the show becasue no longer am i going the be breed blind and i will make crosses that i think need to be made to win that world championship and yes it will be a redbone i'm handling.
