Performance Point Increase

I'm thinking of ways to increase the performance point value. Would it be something to think about to have a payout like another registry. Pay the points earned after a dog has accomplished its new title? A great many of dogs will win hunt a hunt or two but wont go on to make NT or GR Nt, thus making the pts go up.

Just trying to improve the best affordable program going for you average competition hunter.

That is how AKC does it so that idea is out.

Yeah forgot about that, it'll never happen. But you couldn't deny the fact it would drive pts up.

Increase the sire enrollment fee to $300, the litter nomination to $50 and the individual puppy nomination fee to $35.00......with the current totals of dogs enrolled minus 40 % of the sires not enrolling with the fee increase..... the current performance point value would be in excess of $1,000 per point..... clubs would have no problem drawing at least 20 registered dogs per event when the point value is at this level, good for all involved. Use 50% of the revenue generated to start a Grand Series for Grand Nite Champions, limit the number of Grand Series events to 1 per club per year, all Grand Series plus point cast winners would receive a quarter point, this would increase participation and payout for the winners. JMO

well i'll say it again..i think a stud owner with a dog like trackman is making out like a bandit..i think stud owners should pay a small nomination fee for all litters sired and not have a regular fee..if the dog sires 4 litters a yr it would cost a 100 bucks (25.00 per litter) and a dog sires 25 litters would pay 625.00..i'm sure UKC has the data of performance sired litters to see if this would raise the points or lessen them,,i don't know, just a thought!!

It's only a $25 fee to register as a pup. Put my female in one hunt this fall, got a first on her and with the number of dogs there it worked out to a half a point. If the point value is $140 then I get half of that for going to one hunt and getting lucky with a young pup. I don't think anyone can complaine to get paid to go hunting. Had she been registerd as a pup that would pay for the fee, entry, and gas. What more could you ask for? This year will pay for what I gave for her and food hopefully and some extra would be nice if she turns out like she has started. Don't get me wrong, everythng has room for improvment but all in all it is a great deal I think.

THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IT KEEPS GOING DOWN WONDER AT WHAT NUMBER IT WILL LEVEL OFF AT

I like the idea of increasing the fees. I think that 200-300 a year is definetly affordable for those that have a stud. I would sure be and advocate of anything to get those points up. If we could find a way to level the out to around 500$ it would really be benificial in the long run.

if it stays above 100.00 a point it will still be a good program..

This program wasn't setup to start with to be like every other KC out there. It's setup so the lil man can hunt in the local hunts and get a return for it.

Increase the "pay per dog" fees'that the clubs send into ukc at every hunt. From what is it today $2 or 3.00$ to $5.00 per dog, with the increase designated for the P.P. For this example I'm guessing that the fee is currently $2.00.
Average of 20 dogs per hunt x 7 hunts per year(MAX) per club=140 dogs per year
140x$3.00=$420 x by the #(250) of clubs in the USA and Canada.=$105000.00
UKC knows how many active clubs there are in the USA and Canada.
I just picked 250 clubs might be more might be less.
But this is a win/ win/ win approach to everyone concerned.
The $3.00 increase per dog per hunt ought not break the club.
Do not increase the entry fee @ the hunt. The clubs flips the increase.
I would hate to see the enrollment/nomination fees as they stand today increased.REMEMBER THAT THIS PROGRAM WAS INSTITUTED FOR THE LOCAL HUNTER, increasing those fees is not the answer.

I see where the Grand American posted 672 dog entered.
672 X $3.00 =$2016 designated for the P.P. Just in one weekend. WOW that would increase the P.Pts. pay out.
Now just consider what the local(s) level can do Nationally.
I personally think as a competition participant I pay enough.

There are plenty of pups being born to Performance Sires, the litters are being nominated, But I am sure many of the pups aren't being paid up. I think the pups should be required to be paid up at six months at the low fee of $25.00; then the owner dosn't have the option to wait until the dog is a year old to decide to pay him up or not. If 80% of the nominated pups were paid up, how much money would be in the program? Tom

I know its nice to finally get some money back at the end of the year. But to me its not even worth messing with until they change something to get the point value back up where it use to be.

In doing the math it becomes quite evident that the biggest percentage of the monies in the fund is that of the perms and litters.

Example:
1,000 Sires @ $100 each = $100,000.00

There's over half a million in the fund right now. Where's the other $400,000.00 coming from? Yep, perms and litters!

Point......raising perm and litter fees $5 or $10 would increase the fund numbers substantially. Even more so than doubling the sire fees. Plus, the idea of doubling the sire fees might result in less sires enrolled?

The point value being a hundred bucks or better is still a great return for the nominal nomination fees. Is the average hunter interested in a slight increase in nomination fees to increase the point value? You tell us. It's your program.

For those of you that think money is the root of all the problems in the nite hunts youre dead wrong. Its PRIDE, nobody wants to get beat anymore so they cause problems.

I think whatever needs to be done needs to be done to raise te point to 200$. Whatever to make the hunts numbers increase.

i believe if you make it about the money it will become about the money...not a good thing in my thinking...just look at washington
