A once in a lifetime hound....

This is Shaun Paton and Frank Giddings at Clam River Coon Hunters Club Walker Sectional Hunt held last May. Shaun and his dog Pony won the Nite Champion portion of the hunt. Pony had to be put down recently. He truly was a fine hound. I know he had very special meaning to Shaun. Pony even helped Shaun out one night in the woods while Shaun was having a heart attack. Shaun once told me "any dog that helps save my life is good enough to **** in my kennel".LOL Rest in peace Pony

Travis, Thank you very much for posting this. He truly was that once in a lifetime hound for me. I owe my life to him, and way to many good hunts to count.

So SOrry

We're sorry for your loss. He sure was a NICE looking hound and obviously quite the hunting partner. He will ALWAYS live on in your heart....

Pony

I want to thank everyone for the good thoughts about Pony. It was so very hard to loose him. It's hard to look into his place in the kennel and not see him there.

Pony

While Frank and I are holding Pony his back was hurt. He got hurt in a hell hole south of our home down on the Manistee river. I had his back adjusted twice and he seemed much better. Two weeks ago he did something in his kennel to put it out again and this time it took out two discs between the vertebra near his hips. He was in such pain. We tried several ways to help and fix him with know success. I sure wish old Sackett's Cyanide was able to help get me one more to try.

Shawn, so sorry to hear about Pony. That's a tuff one. I hunted with a Pony a time or 2 also and boy what a jaw on a dog. Cyanide shore puts a mouth on em. Good luck getting another. It's gonna be a sad day around here when that day comes for ol Cyanide's sheriff Andy. He is 8 now so who knows when it'll be. but for now he still gets around pretty good. Good luck getting another. I have a Cyanide grandpup here and he can shake the ground. reminds me of Cy.

Seems like I heard about your heart-attack but i can't remember the details. Take care, Jeff
