Safeguard for Goats
I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding Safeguard for goats. I currently am using the cattle line of Safeguard and have been hearing about others using the goat wormer. Can anyone give me the measurements per pound for a dog and any other dosage information available? any information regarding this will be greatly appreciated. Like, what kind of worms it will remove. Thanks!

Skip the goat wormer and go to valbazen cattle wormer , 1cc per 10lbs down the throat , gets them all and with only one dose.Much better wormer , that is straight from my vet............

Re: Re: Safeguard for Goats
quote:.06 of a ml wont worm a 25 pound dog, different animals have different metabolisms. You have to find out how many ml it takes for a 25 pound dog at what ever percent of Panacur is in it. For instance the tube horse wormer safe guard will worm a thousand pound horse or a 70 pound dog.

I have a friend that has been useing it for years and got me started. We use the weight guide for the goats it has on the bottle. The smallest it goes down to is 25 lb. and it getts .06 ml. and it goes up to 125 lb. So with the guide on the bottle and a calculator you should be able to get about any dose figured.

Thanks Oak Ridge. Great article BTW.
We already buy SafeGuard and Ivomec to use on our alpacas. Switched from Heartgard to ivomec for heartworms several years ago because of the cost.
Usually worm with Pyrantel pomeate now, but it takes the whole bottle each time at $16 a bottle. Will start using the SafeGuard now.
