Anyone that works on marine band radios??
I have a marine band radio that needs worked on. I am able to talk on it but not able to receive. I have checked everything on it and cannot get it fixed. Does anyone know anyone that works on these??? Thanks for any help you can give me. Junior Watson 865-654-6600

A tech will charge ya almost as much as a new one (unless its a high priced icom) if you can try a different antenea if that works its a bad antennea or the co ax shorting out in the plug.

Try a ext speaker if you can get out this could be it you can get one for around 10.00
You say that you are able to talk, but are they able to hear you on the other end? It could be something kinda simple as a bad antenna or a short in the coax, like has been already said. Depending on the brand and model of your radio. We used to see a lot of two way radios come in had a break in the output board. This would be where the antenna connects to the radio. If you open the radio, alot of the radios would break just on the inside that connector where the female coax on the back of the radio.
