Dogs become casulties in "war" between hunters - Moore County, NC

http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/154195/

Sad story of dogs being poisoned and shot by other hunters in Moore County. The story is in regards to deer hunting with dogs vs. still hunting.
While this story is bad to see Moore County has stood with hunters and their hounds; part of this story reports that Mac Allen Moore of Raleigh, NC was arrested and charged with animal cruelty for shooting a hunting dog owned by a Moore County resident. In addition Senator Harris Blake voted with dog owners against the HSUS sponsored "Puppy Mill Ban" in NC this past year. Moore County is the host county for the NC State UKC Championship.

I'm sorry to hear of this happening so close to home. I have leased some hunting land in Moore co. and the land owner raises working Border Collies. But glad to hear the monster that did that is being charged! Hope they throw the book at him. I also hope Moore co continues to support hunters with dogs.

Sen. Richard Burr is also one we should back here in NC! He has been a great supporter of gun owners rights, too.

if someone has a problem with me they need to be man enough to come to me not be a worthless coward and do something to my dogs. they should do to them what they did to the dogs, shot or poisoned. our dogs are like our children they depend on us to feed and take care of them and i consider my dogs part of the family.

Sad to hear

This is sad to hear being as how I live real close to Moore County. All dog hunters in North Carolina should get together and form an association for all the hunting dogs. If bird doggers, deer doggers, coon hunters, beaglers, bear hunters and squirell dog owners could unite there would be alot of power. There are alot of hound hunters in this state.

Hey Bunny Buster!!

I think you guys already have something like that in your state !! Ill do some diggin and see what I can come up with! We have an association here in Va that is just for hunters and nonhunters that support hunting with hounds!

you know its been really quite here in virginia with that stuff, last year there were a few dog shootings and stealings.
i heard a storry last year about a 500.00 deer dog that was shot buy some farmer and some how the next day the farmers prized bull was shot between the eyes, but i understand the dog killings in that county suddenly stopped

Never ask a man what kind of dog he has. If he has a hound he'll tell you, if he does not, you don't want to shame him by asking.
