Need Help???
BEAGLES GOT THERE PADS TORE UP BAD HEADED TO MAINE ON THE BIG HUNT IN 9 DAYS.WHAT ARE HUNTERS USEISNG FOR TORE UP PADS.
Never tried it but hear super glue.
sore pads
if thier real sore i would soak them in epsom salt not real hot water just where it wont really burn them it will take the soreness out they have a med out called tuff foot or put neosporm and wrap thier feet with rags if you can
We deal with slipped or peeled pads quite regularly when running the greyhounds.
With sharp small scissors, trim of any loose or hanging skin (if there is any) - it doesn't hurt the dog at all.
From the vet or feed store get a bottle of Copertox - it's used for treating thrush in horses (it also used to be labeled for dog feet, but isn't anymore). Once or twice a day put just a drop or two on the places that are peeled - I hold the foot up for a few seconds to let the Coppertox dry, then set it down and do the next foot. Do not bandage or wrap the feet - and do not put anything else on it. It helps if you can keep them off dirt, or if you can't rinse them off and let them dry before putting on the Copertox.
They will limp around for a day or two, will be sound but a little tender for a couple of days, and will be ready to run hard in about a week.
The pad tissue in feet is remarkable quick to heal and regrow, and the Copertox toughens up and dries up the pad tissue.
I'm assuming they are outside dogs, but if they are house dogs, take them outside to put the Copertox on, as it is bright green, and it stains (don't ask me how I know!)
Hope this helps.

warm water and salt
i have used warm water and salt, seem to work well. plus didn't cost much at all.
