Goverment stuck us retired older folks

i got my letter informing us retired folks that the cost of living did not go up so we got no raise. truth is yall know who gave it all away. personally a lot of my bills went up uncluding health insurance and we cant do anything about it until next election. im sure by then evereyone will see the light. work hard all your life and now watch out. i pity the young and today they are giving billions to poor countries

It has been going this way for decades and still most don't want to do anything about us and the goverment getting robbed on health care.
Personaly I would take any kind of health care bill. It is a strating point when it passes. We will be fighting over changes in it till the end of time OR WE COULD JUST GO ON TRUSTING THE ONES THAT ARE ROBBING US NOW.
I India they have some of the best health care in the world. A stent for your heart $ 100.00 installed. Catoract sergery $ 100.00. What happens if we get in a war and we can't get our pills at any price becouse they are all made over seas and they can't or won't get them to us?

Why don't you tell folks why Healthcare is so cheap in India??

Do you really want someone from India who studied to be a doctor behind the local fish market and Incense shops doing surgery on you??

If their healthcare is so great why arent there anyone flocking to their country to have surgery and save money??

Better yet, why dont you go and ask a Indian doctor the state of healthcare in his home country. I know one you can call. If you want his name and number let me know and I will PM it to you so you can call and let him set you straight.

i got to go get my haircut today- i can't wait till we communize those hair stylists. every month i gotta pay 8 dollars for about 10 minutes of work. ridiculous! this mess has been going on for decades and nobody has enslaved them for us yet. maybe after we get the doctors enslaved we can do more on to this pressing problem that touches every american with hair.

When I look around at the Doctors here in the U S, I see lots of Indians and others praticeing medicene here. Must be they make more money here and decide to stay after they recieve there education.

Exactly...They come HERE to be educated and STAY because the rewards are greater.

When the Govt controls what you can make, incentive to improve is dampened and quality suffers.

So what will it be?? A major surgery by a guy in Delhi for $2,000 who only makes $15,000 a year or $20,000 in America who leads his field and has upgraded and continued to improve his techniques over the years??

Why don't you go and find WHO sets the prices for medical procedures.

Let me answer it for you.

It isn't the Doctors. It is the Govt.

THEY decide what THEY will pay for a procedure for those on medicare and Medicaid (which is pennies on the dollar)

Then those of us who are responsible and have our own insurance thru work or entirely out of our own pockets have to pay MORE to make up the expense.

I am keeping my eye on the Tea Party movement. Truthfully, I think the 2 party system is too ingrained in our society, but Washington (both parties) need to wake up! They have to come to the realization that you can not spend more than you make. It truly is sad when our politicians act like children with no discipline.

DE- a couple of questions- if you are retired, why aren't you on medicare? or when you talk about "bills went up including health insurance" are you referring to copays?

If you are on a govt retirement system and receiving govt subsidized healthcare would you like to see those govt programs expanded or cut?
John would say you are someone who is "living off the teat", I believe lb says your type are "freeloaders" who are "on the dole". As a tax paying american I am happy that some of earnings are going to care for retirees, but to be honest I am kind of stretched a little thin these days too. So how do we come up with some more money to provide for you? Should the govt try to raise more revenue or simply cut spending so that you can have some more money? If you favor raise more revenue- then how? Who should pay in more? Should the working poor have to pay in more? Should the middle class folks chip in more, or should the ultra wealthy like CEOs who make a million $ per year? Maybe we should raise revenue by taxing estates of people who die with over 3.5 million $ left in their bank accounts. If we tax that at even 50% their poor kids would only get 1.75 million dollars and might be forced to get a job?
Or maybe we could cut spending? Shut down a few more elementary schools? Let the roads go shambles? Pare down our military? Keep our military out of expensive wars that don't create an economic benefit? Quit bailing out/ subsidizing the capitalists-ie banks, auto makers, oil producers? Or should we cut your benefits and healthcare?

Now, I am under the assumption that you are human being, a member of my society [The United States of America], and not just a paid propogandist working for some corporation. I believe in working together [John calls it collectivism] to care for citizens of my society. John calls that socialism. I call it traditional Judeo-Christian values. Those values tell me that we would be best to tax more heavily the super rich to care for working class. [John would call that marxism]. I believe that we should quit bailing out the capitalists and start caring for the working class. Now some would say that I am "redistributing wealth", but if you worked hard all your life, didn't you in fact help create that wealth that the millionaires have? Why should the CEO of a for profit health insurance company make hundreds of thousands of dollars a day, while a guy who maybe cut wood or mined for coal, or farmed their whole life would have to work for 10 years to make what a CEO might make in a day? Are these people better than you? More worthy than you? Do they deserve to live the good life more than you?

You hit the nail on the head. I try never to comment on threads like these~ But I must add that I have had treatments at MCG ~Augusta, GA~ and Charlestown SC. ALL of my DRs were Indian.

I received excellent treatment, and still do. I just wish it were from someone I could understand a little better......

yes i have Medicare and Humana which cost me and only get a little over 800 a month. my solution to get all USA back on feet would have given the trillion of dollars to the people as bonus money and they would have put it back into economy and it would still have reached the top. i mean the USA is broke. all the money they have borrowed we are surely in trouble and will bankrupt the country the way they are going. they increase the top people in goverment and bankers who are in trouble get bonus. it is just a crazy goverment. if you r rich u will get richer and if u poor and electricity has doubled here in a year and everything getting more expensive,you cant keep your bills paid.

If you were an elected official what would you do to balance the budget? Would you cut this retirees benefits?

Do you understand that passing laws to make abortions illegal has never been proven to lower the number of abortions that take place?

Do you have the courage to answer any of these questions or will you just keep namecalling?

U.S. News and World Report just reported earlier this week that in order to pay off Obama's spending Americans were going to have to get used to living on 75% less of what they do presently.

The Liberals says our wages in this country are too high compared to the rest of the world. Like all good liberals/Socialists, they want everyone to be equal. Thus you have all of this global poverty and economic stabilization lingo coming out of the Obama camp. That along with this Global warming hoax is going to force American, already strained by our economic problems and a look down the road at what we have to pay back, are now also going to be forced to give up MORE of their wages to make the world more "equal".

Folks, Obama is a traitor. Anyone who supports him is either painfully and willfully ignorant or a traitor themselves.

Truly, i went to work in a textile[ sewing factory] one day after graduation and started at $1.00 an hr and after years of getting promoted they passed a bill and textiles were shipped over seas and they shot the factories down and than i got any job i could find in my town. i finally got a job selling cars for Toyota until our secretary pinned me between two cars and pushed my hip completely though pelvic bone . was unable to work for over a year and drawed lot less from workmans comp than my salary because Va is one of few states u cant sue while on job, so we lived off our savings for over a year. i know hard luck case. im just tired of Obama and he will put us down. and now they want to do away with anything to do with God. not only him bacause he is Muslim but lots of non beleivers which are in minorty. worksman paid me 1/3 what i could have earned

Like him or not you can't put this crap on this president. I know it goes all the way back to Reagan. Clinton in my opinion done the worst harm makeing that trade deal with China but the deal with Mexico and all the rest has helped do us in.
I don't agree with a lot of what this one does just like all the rest but I do try to put blame were it belongs and there is plenty on this problem to go around.

All they can talk about is how to pay the inflated price of it or how to pay the blood sucking insurance companies. President Obama has spent more in his first one hundred days than all of the other United states Presidents combined. How can we not put it on him Okie Dawg?

And guess who sets the cost for Medical procedures? The "gubmint". Yessiree, thanks to Ted Kennedy and the laws they passed that created the current system we now currently have.

Oh yeah. I forgot. According to the Demo-rats own budget review board, Their health care bill will actually raise health care costs for the average American family whgile cutting basic care.
