Cricket .22
Lets talk about the Cricket .22. Who uses these? scope? lasers? Ive used a $100 synthetic blued model from walmart with scope and rail from cricket. I've had good results knocking out coons with this little gun with one downside being the singleshot. Does anyone know if you can modify this gun to take a magazine? Are there any similar guns as far as length, weight, and price that have multiple rounds?

I use a crickett in the synthetic stock and stainless barrel. Older model with a lazer sight on it. Does alright down this way.

I had one ... but they are loud and single shots ... I got tired of it and went back to me single shot Rossi .22 magnum .
If they were more quiet , I'd get another one .. but I can't see the advantage they have over a long barreled pistol with the same laser dot scope.
Here is a pic of the Cricket I use with a cricket scope mounted on it.

Does anyone have one with the thumb hole stock ? I wonder if this would help with keeping the gun still.

The Chipmunk is just about the same gun. I believe it is a tad longer. I have used a Cricket for years. I have a small red dot on it. My first model was a basic wood stock. I fell backwards and fell on the gun and broke the stud that holds the stock to the receiver. I replaced it 5 years ago with the composite stock. Everything I have tried to do in the last few years is to "lighten the load." That why I stay away from a regular scope type setup.
Justin - I have a Heritage Arms .22 revolver with a 9 inch barrel and Red Dot scope. The Cricket is much more quiet and actually easier for me to carry. I use shorts most of the time....year round. CBs coming out of the revolver are louder than shorts out of the Cricket. I got tired of coon laughing at me when I hit them with a CB out of a revolver...

Savage makes a very similiar model with the accu-trigger. It has been very hard for me to always walk by it at the local hunting supply store.

The Cricket could be a nicer gun .. make it a break barrel so you can load it easier and make it just enough longer so that it's not so much louder than it looks.
A guy I hunted with a few weeks ago had some kind of long barrel pistol ... I guess he was shooting subsonics because it was actually not much louder than a pellet gun .
I love mine
Simple modification to the peep sight and it was great. I just cut off the top part of the peep sight on mine and cut a V in it with a jewelers file. Just like any other iron sight now, I just sit the stock against my cheek bone and my eye focuses real easy to shoot.
