Anyone used the Garmin Astro?

I'm looking at buying the Astro, but dont want to buy a new system if it still has bugs in it, or isn't any better than what I already got. I use a Quick track system with tracker collars now. Has anyone used the Astro, comments good or bad? thanks J Baker greenback,tn.

I've had mine for close to 10 months now and don't know how I ever lived without it. The best thing since sliced bread for me.

I've been using the Garmin Astro 220 with the DC30 collar for a year now. I very impressed! So impressed we started carrying them in our sporting good. We sell the whole kit for $499 and that includes SH

That's wierd. I posted yesterday on this.....I thought. Must have hit a wrong button.
I could go on for a while about the benifits but I wont. I coon and squirrel hunt my dogs and I am way happier with this than the Innotec rd300 or the Tracker Maxima I had. There has been a couple times that it lost contact with the dogs but I still find it way more helpful that the others trackers I've had. I would suggest you look into getting rechargable batteries. If you leave the reciever on, like alot of people do in the woods, the batteries will burn out in a couple hunts. Whatever small glitch you may run into it is still worth the purchase.

I have had them for about to yrs. Started with the 20s and now have the 30s.

I am a hog hunter and like it alot. That being said, I still run my quick track with the Garmin.

Some have had problems losing contact with the dogs and also getting false locations. Other hunters I know have had the same problem.

Still a great tool.
