Registering a long name

My 6 month old girl is ready for registration in anticipation of next year's shows. One snag, however, holds me back from registration -- her name! AKC recently allowed longer names, and I took advantage of this, using all 36 characters allowed. UKC's current registration only allows for 30 characters.

What shall I do?

Her registered name is Purple Fugitive Spring Auf Southwind.

You either have to shorten the name a little bit so it fits in our allowed amount of spaces, or you can name the dog something completely different with us. If you name it something completely different with us, please include a note with your papers telling us that you are intentionally naming the dog something different with us, so we know it's not some sort of mistake.

That's pretty sad. Any reason UKC isn't looking at expanding?

Maybe I just won't bother with UKC anymore.

We are looking at expanding. We are working on getting a completely new system up and running, but unfortunaely it's taking some time. But it is something we are in the process of completing.

Well, I've sent it in with a note detailing how I want it butchered... I mean shortened...

OK. If we need anything else, we'll be sure to let you know.
