Black and Tan Birdhound
Today, I transported a Black and Tan Coonhound from a small rural shelter to a larger shelter in a larger town. When we got the shelter, a large flock of geese was blocking traffic...moving cars and honking horns seem to have no impact on them.
So...I took the big B&T out and put him on the leash. He ran (with me barely managing to keep up) right into the flock letting out several of his big coonie barks, and those birds took right off! I saw several drivers laughing at the pair of us, but I am sure they appreciated being able to get traffic moving.
Oh the many uses for a coonhound!

LMBO!
Our BnT is OBSESSED with geese... from a few moths he spent living in Long Island, NY.... He stares at them when they fly overhead.
Our Bluedawg, who used to be a coondawg... now "Chases away" the hawks, vultures etc... that fly over head threatening HIS chickens(the ones he KILLS if he catches one) LOL.... He stays busy, here in his retirement, never bored, he'll hunt just about anything now... LOVES to track and then eat... Honey Bees(just don't tell the hive owners!).
Good job! LOL.... HappyHunting and Transporting, Heather
