Had brucellosis in some Beagles back in !976 when we had brucellosis in our cow herd, dogs got it from eating the afterbirth from a cow that was infected. The state made us fix the dogs that tested positive and kill the cows that had it.Haven't heard of a dog with brucellosis since it was eradicated from Georgia. Georgia is now brucellosis free and some vets won't even test now because we are an USDA Certified brucellosis free state.
