Just The Way I Like It..

Last night I turned Bo loose at about 7:30. He hadn't said a word as I watched him go over 1000 yards on the garmin. He finally opened up almost out of hearing. He was getting close to a big river, so i wanted to get in there quick. While walking in i heard him locate and lock it up. He had the meat. Shot it out for the puppy that was with us. Walked backed towards the truck and pointed the other way and turned Bo loose. He went about 150 yards this time and opened up screamin' on a fairly decent track. The tracked hooked back right towards the truck. He ran the track about 250 yards and located and locked it down with the meat. I had a guy with me that it was his 2nd time coon hunting. I let him shoot it out. Well.... he hit that coon EVERYWHERE except in the head. The coon came out completely alive and the fight was on. DANG IT. The one good part of that is that the pup got to watch a brutal screaming, squalling fight. That seemed to get her fired up. So when it was all said and done, we turned loose twice, made two trees and looked at two coons. And the best part was that the last tree was with within 250 yards of the truck
