garmin problem..
Last night I turned my unit and collar on. Loaded the dog and headed for teh woods. Before I cut the dog I checked if everything had signal, all good, marked the truck, turned loose. Dog just got out of sight and I head it beep, lost signal. Never got signal again until I got to the dog.
I got back to the truck and changed collars, everything working. Went to teh next spot checking the unit a few times, had good signal all the way there. Turned loose and at about 100 yards lost signal. No dog. I found the dog treed about a .5 mile down the road, and only got signal again once I parked the truck near him.
It's almost as if the antenna is not working? Any ideas or suggestions?

Had signal moving.. had signal until the dog was around 100 yards away. These are spots I hunt all the time and never lose signal. It was odd.
Almost like the antenna was off. I took it of and put if back on, didn't change anything. Any more ideas before I have to call Garmin and talk to someone in India to send in my unit?. haha

There is a very thin wire, like Coax cable for the antenna. That can get broken and not make good contact which in effect makes you not have an antenna.
It sounds like that is what happened to you.

2 DC30s.... I've had the unit for a while. Been using an aftermarket antenna on it for the last month or so and it just quit. I'm guess I'm going to put the regular antenna on it and see what happens.

I don't own one but that is how my tracker acts when it needs batteries.

probably in the tracker if lost both collars.
if you are taking the antenna on and off of your hand held or if you over tighten the antenna you can break the connection in the unit.
had a buddy do this and his unit done the same thing
you will have to send it in.
