Question about switching dog on cast

How can someone switch and run a different dog on a cast and not get written up? When the judge read each dogs name he confirmed thats the dog he had, in front of several witnesses.

I was there if i am right they had a meeting with several rep to come to this
why do you have reps. if you can respect what did
i think they did right and i know the cast member wouldn't do that on purpose mistakes happen
let it go and remember this at the next meeting for rules change and then speak up

If it was a mistake when the cast was over and he won why didn't he admit to master of hounds what he did? Instead of trying to let it slid through?
You honestly mean you cant tell the difference between your dogs? cant tell a male from a female?

One dog was registered and then the handler ran a dog in the cast that was different that what he registered to run??

yes. he entered 1 dog, when he got out on cast he got other dog out.

Hell no. You can't do that by "mistake" either, unless you're really simple.

If that's the case, I'm going to start running ol "Stiff" in place of the rest of my dogs and get them all championed out!!!

he should of been scrached!!! Im going to start doing it to if i draw out with fast dogs ill put my fast dog out, if its a slow cast ill put slow dog out!!!!! Good for them its good for me 2!!!!!!!!!!!

This way you will have a fresh dog..What about rest of cast that drove hours to get there. They are screwed to. If your caught your scratched, if not you advance, finish a bunch of dogs on 1 good one. No one got banned or on probation.

He got out wrong dog on cast. won the cast. When they got back to club cast member was reading computer sheet and saw it said female dog, went up and reported, file complaint, he had run a male on female dog entry.
He was scratched in the end, He said it was a mistake. If it was a mistake why did he say yes when judge called dogs name? why didnt he go in and tell master of hounds he made mistake after cast. There are other things but an unsportsmanlike conduct report has been filed so. Will wait.

Why Did the Judge Call the Dogs NAME?????
judge Shouldnt know the Dogs names just thier numbers!!!
All Sounds like Sour grapes to me a Simple mistake Could have been made.... Scratch the Dog.....
AND the judges Should not know IF the Dog was male or Female Either WHERE on the score card Does it list Male or Female???or Even the Dogs name???
Just a number and a Color THAT IS ALL the judge SHOULD know.....PERIOD...
The ONLY place the Dog is listed is on the print out When used for the casts and the ONLY people that know the Sex of the Dog is those taking the entries IF the owner were to list it Correctly.....
Gonna be kinda hard to PROVE that he Deliberately swapped dogs.......

now did the judge say the dogs name or just a number
i know i had several out today and had to triple check my numbers. i do agree he should be on probation
and if ever happens again in the probation period banded
we all make mistakes i guess i will never handle anther dog for some one in fear of this happening and then who is to blame

HOW did anybody Even Find out about it?? How did it come about??? Did Somebody on the Cast KNOW it was the WRONG dog and if so Why didnt They speak up Before the cast Started???? How Many Dogs did this Person Enter??
Did he Copy the Numbers or did Someone else Get them For Him ECT ECT just Something Dont SOUND right about the whole thing........

I wasn't at the hunt, but what I'm told the person had 2 dogs go out at the same time and got them mixed up who was where. 1 of these hounds won a cast but was in wrong cast. They scratched both dogs (that were in wrong casts) and re ran the cast the wrong dog won. I think they should have re ran both but they felt the other cast was won by one of the hounds that was suppose to be there so they left it alone.

Simple mistake blown out of proportion.

The 2nd place handler (of the first running) caught the mistake and brought it to the attention of the master of hounds and he then started investigating the situation.

That handler looked at the roll out sheets and noticed that the dog on there had a female name and the handler was calling for a hound with a male dog name out on the cast.

At the big PP hunts and some others clubs have software to roll the dogs to get a fair roll. It separates owners with multiple entries and does a good job at this at the push of a button. Not with a bingo roller. These sheets are posted at the club and you can see who won the casts and see who you drew.

They also give a section of these to the judges because it is easy to get the numbers strait and there collars assigned.

The handler just got confused and was probably excited because its the world hunt. It was fixed in the end and the hunt will go on. I'm sure it would have gotten caught in the next round and fixed then. But by then they wouldn't have had the opportunity to re run the cast. They would have been scratched, due to people getting beat and leaving for home since they are running round 2 tomorrow.

I don't think its was done on purpose and I don't think he was trying to hide it at the club upon return. (I hope)

Well after I got the hunting beagle format out of my thoughts I might have been to quick to shout I could see where this could happen a guy could have multiple dogs in the back of his truck he guy that was carrying the dog t the feild could have just picked up the wrong dog but it still would be the responsiablity of owner to send right dog should have scratched the two dogs and moved on

Ok it gets better..
They re ran the 4 dogs left after the cast winner(wrong dog) was scratched. Established a winner, cast came back to club, thinking everything was fine.
Nope the genrleman had run the wrong dog in all the confusion and won the cast with a different dog than in the original cast. But this man was honest and came up and told MOH and admitted he made a mistake on his own.
So for the third time this pack is out running with remaining 3 dogs. Yes the man who won the second time was scratched.
